Charley Lillard
I wanted to thank our man Charley for bringing a couple parts to MCACN that I really needed for a radio restoration. He wouldn't accept any money for them, so I hope I can return the favor someday.
Thanks, Charley! It was great to meet you after all these years. |
He's a good guy.
|
I agree, he's a good one. He was kind to me during a rough time.
|
Him’s good peoples!!:CharleySucks:
Cheers Dave |

Tell him you have a car for sale and wait for the reply...
How's the knee, after all that walking, Charley ? |

I know what he wants for X-mas.
|
I think he already has no touch step in shoes.

Got a MRI a couple hours ago.
|
They should be able to find a way to help with that, without a complete replacement.
Around here, that seems to be the easy way to deal with bad knees and it doesn't always turn out positive for the people. Keeping positive thoughts for you. |
I don't think it needs replacing. It has had issues for awhile but nothing bone on bone. Then in August I slipped with wet bare feet on a glass chair mat, flew up in the air and landed on it. Was sure it was destroyed but Xrays showed no broken bones. They drained it and said it would be a few months. Finally went to a different guy that ordered the MRI because something snags, shooting pain etc. Since I'm here whining....If you said something to me at MCACN and I ignored you either you are someone I hate or you were to the left of me. A week after I fell on my knee I had ear surgery on my left ear that left me completely deaf in my left ear except for really loud ringing. Getting old is not for sissies and I'm thinkin I am one.

Well, from one sissy to another; let's just keep plugging away as long as we can. You think guys on this site are old, you wouldn't believe some of the guys still working on Studebakers. Because I have a couple of those, I hang out on the that forum from time to time.
One story. Reading a post by on of the Studebaker guys. Starts out talking about how he was working on a rear axle. Had one end sitting on a tall jack stand, and the other was supported by a chain on a cherry picker. The cherry picker bled down a bit over night and the whole assembly fell. He was wanting some advice about a broken part. Seems is first obstacle that morning was getting his walker over the thresh hold going into the garage!!!! Here is a guy needing a walker to get out to the garage, and he is still working on his own classic!!! Here's to old guys. We rock. Hope I die with a wrench in one hand and a beer in the other. |
I've looked at these products for a few years, but refuse to admit I'm in that category, so haven't bought one.. As of my 70th, I now count backward. Another 3 years, my wife and I will be the same age.

It was nice seeing Charley at MCACN. Although he tried to run over me with his scooter.
Great show by the way and looking forward to next year. Rick H. |
