1970 nova 375 hp broadcast sheet

I have seen the body sheet before but not the broadcast sheet. Is this one real? My apologies for the poor pictures. The car is on bringatrailer.com

Are you asking if the sheet is real or the car? Car has gm Canada docs to back it up so looks like a real l78 black nova to me.

ryanchevelle 08-07-2024 02:40 AM

I could be wrong but that sheet looks like the gm Canada microfiche sheets of the original records of imported cars and their options.

You are probably right. It has Canadian paper work. I have never seen one. Thank you.

Correct, that is the original GM of Canada microfiche page. Not a broadcast/build sheet.

Appreciate all you guys.

If you’re going for it good luck! Can’t be many black L78 novas with documentation out there.

Canadian Microfiche...

That microfiche was obtained a long time ago...we had similar files for a 70 L78 car from Canada. [circa 1990]

They finally realized the microfiche showed a lot of info on other cars, many the hi-perf models. If you have the VIN and options it is easier to 're-create' a car :rolleyes2:

Not sure when they stopped supplying this info...but it has been awhile.

Good luck with the car.

Actual Key codes for a desirable car,are never a good idea to share.

Somehow the Canadian Documentation page (not the microfiche) looks off to me. Notice no mention of the radio or windshield antenna, but it does appear on the microfiche. Colour 19/19 on the document doesn't look right to me either.

If someone does get the car I have the proper Canadian Owners Manual available.

Two out the three L78 70 Novas I had, were radio delete, but had windshield antennas. Both had the antenna wire, but they were jammed behind the defroster ducts on the assembly line. Small detail, but I wouldn't think the antenna was a separate option (worth listing).

Micro-fiche options...

I would agree with this analysis...the antenna was moved to the windshield in 1970. Given that GM is a manufacturer who measures costs per vehicle. Including the antenna on all windshields makes sense...adding a radio doesn't impact that.

Glad to see some Nova threads hitting the airwaves

Respectfully disagree with this analysis. I have the microfiche and the Canadian documentation package that is sent for your VIN when you pay for it.

The radio U63 and the window antenna U76 call outs do appear on both documents as shown by my attached example.

Canadian Paperwork...

I'm going to dig out my old files on the red car and take a look...happy to be re-educated

ryanchevelle 08-10-2024 12:49 AM

I think it’s not listed because the documentation request is from 1991 and they were a bit primitive I’d guess at listing everything. I bet if you ordered the same one today it would be more complete.

Definitely the new owner should buy a fresh set of VVs docs with his/her name on it.

That car sold about an hour away from me :-)
