Home Made go karts
1 Attachment(s)
I’m sure many of us had home made go karts when we were kids. Here is a pic of my “Speed Demon” when I was around 8-9 years old.LOL
I thought it would be fun to see some pics if y’all had a go kart when you were a kid. |
So cool!!!

Can tell by the big grin on your face that you were enjoying it Dave, lol!

Slicks, straight pipe exhaust and a home bent conduit tiller for steering.
You were destined to be a hot rodder and into modifications.. LOL Any pics of the junk I scraped together would have been on film from a Brownie camera in the late 50's, early 60's and are long gone with the parents. |
I'd bet you were the sheet around the local motorheads. It's odd and encouraging how many young boys stop to stare as I drive my vintage stuff around. Just need a bit of encouragement.

I had a home made one that my dad got me when I was a kid in the 60's. The front axle was made from a driveshaft best I can remember. It had a big ole McCullough chain saw engine on it and was fast enough for me.

Wow - does that bring back memories Dave! Our Dad cobbled that together from spare parts in the garage if you couldn't tell LOL.
I think the aluminum wheels on the 79 Impala were borrowed from Bill S. or Stretch and not from Mom's 81. I have a picture of that somewhere. |

Bill-
Here is the 79 Impala the day it was delivered and Dad brought it over to the Classic Motors shop in Joliet to clean it up......still looking for the picture of it with Corvette wheels. Notice the injected cars in the background. |
