Show us your vintage day II gauges still at work today.
My 70s Sun Blue Line mechanical oil pressure gauge, and early 80s Auto Meter mechanical fuel pressure gauge ( well before they said Sport Comp on them).
I have been thinking about finding a Sun fuel gauge so they match, but I keep falling back to the old, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" thought. https://hosting.photobucket.com/albu...080&fit=bounds https://hosting.photobucket.com/albu...080&fit=bounds |

I also have a old SUN water temp gauge under the dash of the Camaro, but not a blue line. I'll have to get a picture of it.

I like the gauges when they are mounted outside in a lot of cases. Here's my 66 from the late 80's.

In case of an equipment failure, whether it be the gauge itself or a blown line, I don't want 6 pounds of fuel pressure covering me with gas in the driver's seat,...or 60 pounds of oil pressure covering me with hot oil either. |

Anyone have info on the different hole sizes in the steering column cup for the Sun tach? I have a holder with a 1/4" hole in it. I have a SST-90 and a SST-802-2 neither of which use the smallish hole. What would this holder be used on? And can anyone use it or possibly have one with the 1/2" hole to trade? Thnks guys.

Here's the 80s Sun temp gauge in my Camaro...didnt go with the larger blue line one because of the location... I wanted it smaller.

Here's the old school Stewart Warner gauges I have in my 33 Chevy 3 window coupe hot rod.

Here are some original old school original early 1970 gauges on a 1970 3540 mile LS6 I am detailing. This and everything else on the car will remain the same other than the tires. Note also the old school gas pedal and Hurst shifter.

----When I 1st got Red Alert I found that Bob Hamilton had mounted a fuel pressure guage to the hood with screws in the black stripe. Thought about it for a bit and decided it had to go and filled the holes in and spotted the paint. Then I took a piece of flat stock and bent it to mount on the cowl under the hood. It went towards the windshield and then wrapped around the hood. Guage was mounted on top and everything cleared. It's still that way today!....Bill S

My 'ol Red Hot-Rod, including the transmitter still attached to the holes I drilled in November 1967.
I've never seen another Sun tach with this style face, IIRC it was related to a movie titled "REDLINE 7000"?? Back then the 2nd design L88 easily buzzed into that 7K red zone. :3gears: |

In my SC360 Hornet. Gauges were rebuilt by Williamsons instruments so the tach doesn’t need a box. I still need to hook up the coolant temp gauge and wire all the lighting.

The 8k tach from "Perfect Instruments" likely installed in the late 60s in my 390/4sp Galaxie 500XL convert.
