The First Nova...
1 Attachment(s)
Been doing some house cleaning and found a photo [fall of 1973] that I haven't seen in over 40 years...the first Nova :flag:
1970 Nova SS 396/375hp, p/s, Forest Green, Exterior Decor Pkg., black deluxe bench seat interior. Those are Mohawk Super-Mag 60 tires with Cragars...you can see the traction bars hanging down. I really thought this photo was lost...glad I sorted thru the trash a second time  -wilma |
Nice Nova.

Very cool Nova. Like the Holy Grail when you find something like that. Searched for pictures of my 1970 L78 4 speed for a long time as well. Mark

glad you found it. Funny for me, the trailer to the right of the car says Lafayette Radio. I used to work for them! Thanks for the throw-back!! |

Thought I share a few of my Sequoia Green 72. I bought it from the original owner in 1989 for 1750.00 He ordered it from the Chevrolet dealership that was right at the end of his street in Claremont NH. It was a 307, 3speed floor shift, radio delete, heavy duty battery and front suspension. It was my daily driver for about 4 year and hot rodded it over the course of 15 or so years. I sold it a while back but have a soft 68 to 72 Nova's. My very first car was a 72 6 cylinder. I've owned a 68 and currently have a 70 that I'm very slowly picking away at.

but can certainly be a handful with those skinny Goodyears on it if you put your foot in it in first or second. I have a second set of Wheel Vintiques 15" SS replicas with a 275 Nitto on the back. It fits but it is tight! |
Black Nova...

Nice, a thread I can contribute some to
FIRST Nova, bought back in 1991. OG 396/350Hp M21 3.73 "52" garnet red. I know Yenko were NOT on SS cars. Currently has a F.A.S.T. style 1969 "052" block 785+Hp ZL1. Second Nova SS 1966 former SS car with work by Fj Smith with "help" and my crew being IHRA MMPS team of Konigshofer Motorsports. Last is my current street 1967 Nova SS. Another old SS car but turned back into a street car with BB power and 12.5 x 29.5 rear tire. STILL have all 3. Yes I like RED, YES I like Nova's and YES I'm all BIG Block big Hp cars. |

Can't believe that some of the original paint is still in good condition!! This picture was taken 9/24/22.
|
That's because you took such good care of it. You waxed the pinstripe off the side in places :)

You guys keep posting pics of pristine Novas. Here is the $400 NY street brawler. 71 350/300(ish) SS 4spd w/ dents and rust. Had a great time street racing this rig against 5.0 Mustangs, GN Buicks and IROC's (notice the Autometer Gauges T shirt, lol)

And yes, It's Green..
