Im gonna introduce another 1969 ss 396 300 deluxe post car that I recently found bought then sold. It went out west and due to some unfortunate circumstances on the new owners side it looks like Im gonna be traveling across country to buy the car back.
Its a Kansas built Fathom green 1969 ss 396 300 deluxe post car. I believe it to be a 396/325 horse 4 speed car with factory 5500 redline tachometer. No motor or transmission but all the original engine accessories came with the car. Black vinyl interior. Car still wears its original paint and apparently it had the white strip from the factory as its still visible on the inside of the door. Car still has all the original brake booster master cylinder calipers and drums. Cars gonna need some obvious sheet metal work which lucky over the years i have accumulated most everything NOS .
If i do indeed get the car back in my possession it will be torn down and sent out in the fall for sheet metal work and paint.

Cool car. Did you find it in MI? Curious what the selling dealer was.

chevyman0429 03-11-2023 04:38 PM

Yes it spent its whole life in Michigan. Car came from Denooyer Chevrolet in Holland Michigan.

Really no doubt in my mind that its an original ss 396 car.

scuncio 03-11-2023 05:26 PM

If those are the original fenders there’s a good chance the build sheet is stuck inside one of them.

chevyman0429 03-11-2023 05:33 PM

Tony as far as i could tell when i had the car in my possession the cars never been apart. So hopefully if i end up with the car back hopefully the build sheet is present. The cars been parked since the late 70’s .

This car looks a bit familiar. Very cool car indeed! Your codes line up well with a ?jan? build? Any pics of the trim tag?

01C build

olredalert 03-11-2023 08:45 PM

----Radiator sticker says 350 hp. That appeals to me a bunch more than a 325.....Bill S

cheveslakr 03-11-2023 10:18 PM

Distributor says 325, radiator sticker includes L35 and L34 together.

cheveslakr 03-11-2023 10:21 PM

Somewhere here I've got the same photo of my '69 13427 L78 car up on a uhaul trailer but going the reverse direction, from Iowa to Oregon.

chevyman0429 03-11-2023 11:05 PM

Yes the distributor does scream 325 horse but none the less a big block 4 speed 3:31 posi and a factory tachometer 69 ss 396 post car!

I drive past that dealership a few times a year they are still around.

Did the car spend it's life in Western Michigan?

Ryan1969Chevelle 03-12-2023 11:05 AM

Wow so simple, so cool!!!

I know an original owner of a LeMans Blue 300 Deluxe, Post Sedan, SS396, he bought it new at Denooyer, and still owned it a few years ago.
