Joe, I bit the bullet and ordered an NOS Relay from HBC only to find their web site hadn't been updated and they don't have the part. Still looking!

The relay fails when the internal rubber piston deteriorates into dust.

The last RS system I worked on a few years ago had an NOS relay installed in the '80s. After hours of chasing the problem to no avail, the relay was replaced on spec with the identical licensed repro. Problem solved.

Cut open the still-new appearing relay, full of rubber crumbs.

I have a real early NOS one that I would consider selling.

Many thanks for posting Dave, as I intend to enter my car in Legends Judging I'm looking for an NOS relay with good plating. I'd be prepared to remove the backing / mounting plate from the plastic body of the relay so the gold dichromate can be redone but the metal retaining band around the body of the relay that is also dichromate (or maybe gold zinc), is not serviceable and cannot be restored. Thanks again for responding.

Not a problem, sorry I couldn't help you out. That's how it came from the factory.
