There's Mad money, Crazy money and the category that this one falls into: Stupid money!

100% agree

Pontiacs have a lot to offer w/ Paperwork available and this one has a lot of positives being a Ragtop + Red/Red + 4-Spd. + Hood Tach + Windows etc then VOE added which somehow helps make up for the lesser engine?:hmmm: As an investment at this price, if what a fella really wanted also considering how many like it will ever be available + where Cuda Ragtops are at + what others are spending money on w/ the world may soon end/let's enjoy life now attitude of late, it may not actually be that foolish of a buy?:dunno: :beers: ~ Pete . |
It's a better buy than spending $165K + sales tax at B-J a year or two ago for a 70 Chevelle SS396 hardtop with 350hp & automatic. Cool factor of the VOE undoubtedly spiced up the bidding.
|
And it's Red/Red. :burnout:

There are still some questions around whether 455 cars were able to be optioned with VOE (Ram Air cars were not) I shudder to think what it would have done if it was a legit VOE 455 car.

W73 did not bypass the mufflers. All it did was to adjust the exhaust flow to use less baffles in the standard mufflers. The reason why it was not available on the Ram Air engines was because they came from the factory with high flow, low restriction mufflers.

The GTO brought good money but not astronomical or an unrealistic price. As many have posted, there are Chevelle's that have little documentation or rare options that bring that amount or more. For every GTO built it '70, Chevrolet built 2 Chevelle SS's.....Who knows how many more 1970 Chevelle SS's have been built in the last 30 years.... |
