1995 Chevy K1500 short bed with 19K miles
I don't know if anyone on here is a fan of mid-90's Chevy trucks but I am selling a really nice one on Bring a Trailer. I bought it in 2016 to be a driver and re-live my 20's as I had bought one new. When it came in on the transport I realized it was way too nice for that! There is nothing wrong with it and it appears to be all original paint. It also looks to have every one of the most popular 90's accessories :). It was undercoated when new which make sense because it was sold new in PA. I have put about 400 miles on it since I bought it.

I remember when these first came out. I thought they knocked it out of the park. And I still think so. Looks better than the predecessor or the successor trucks.
I loved 67-72 trucks, and always thought the square body from 73 - 87 was a huge step backwards, looking too bloated and clumsy (like most EVERYTHING else at the time). I admit to buying a square body Suburban in 1985, but I needed the room, and mechanically, that vehicle was perfect. Just bloated. Go figure; the good looking sleek truck style lasted 5 years, the bloated one 14 years!!! Sleek, and a return to the clean look of a 67, but more modern. Good luck. Nice looking truck. |
WOW, that is a super clean truck. That should be an easy sell.
I owned a '95 extended cab from '98-2005. Nice truck except for the gutless TBI 5.7 and the rear only anti-lock brakes that were dangerously inadequate, especially when pulling a trailer. |
Very nice! GLWS!!

Bidding.. :D

My freind of 50 + years is high bidder at the moment. Funny how things work out. He bought pretty much the exact same truck with like mileage about two months ago at another auction, but it was solid red. While it was in transit to him he was like a little kid on Christmas, he was going to have white billboards put on it to make it perfect for him. The transport driver called him and said he was an hour away, then he got another call from the driver saying he had some " bad news" the car hauler had rolled and his truck was toast, one mile from his house.
https://imgur.com/XWBjwfp https://imgur.com/y6Ziu59 After a knock down drag out with the selling dealer and the shipping company, they finally gave him a full refund after a month. When this popped up a week ago i saw this and sent it to him with the caption " see how heaven plans?'' (stolen from Gene Hackman in Young Frankenstein) Anyway he's in TX so no big deal with the cats being gone, i told him it might help his cause as that will limit the audience in the restrictive emissions states. Hope he gets it! |

Thanks for the replies. I hate to hear about your friends truck but maybe this will be the perfect replacement. I would actually like to have his truck and repair it for a driver. My red & white one was too nice for me to enjoy. I was never worried about putting miles on it as much as I was of someone running into it. Please let me know if anyone has any questions about it.

Probably not the pin itself, but a faulty weld to the deck could have cracked and broken. |
Beautiful truck. I am sure you will be pleased with the results of this auction.
Truck presents itself very well. |
How much would this have retailed for brand new in '95....15K?
|
Window sticker on my new step side sport in 1995 was $24,000. I think I gave $21,500 if I remember correctly.
|
Apples and oranges but my 1995 Suburban K2500 diesel was $38K in May of 1995. Well built trucks. Mine's still going strong.
Best of luck on the sale! |

Nice truck and good luck with the sale. I like these trucks too. Here's my 95 GMC. I like black with red gut trucks. This one has the 5.7 and NV4500 5 speed.

That Black over Red is sharp. :burnout:

Back in the day the extended cab Z-71's were the sh*t.

Congrats Jlbucky,just sold for $35,750.

Thank you, it's going to a collector in Virginia. It was my first sale on that site and was a lot of fun!

Representative pic, not my actual truck. All the pics I had of it were deleted when I got a new computer. https://external-content.duckduckgo....jpg&f=1&nofb=1 |

TD= turbo diesel ??? wish we could have gotten them in this country in a 1/2 ton. |
They were available in the 1500's. They are hard to find but they came in the 1/2 ton pickups as well as 2 & 4 door Tahoe as well. Same with the 6.2 before that.

One I wish I had back sometimes. A "2000" 3500 turbo diesel. GM held the 88-98 body over thru 2000 in the 3/4 & 1 ton.
|
Never heard of a turbo diesel in a 1/2 ton until the new introduction a few years ago and I've owned nothing but Chev's for 40 years...:dunno:Only diesel I recall was the NA dog made from a 350 block in the 70's.

My '95 6.5 Turbodiesel that I've had since new. The original 6.5 engines were not very good in terms of long term reliability: injection pumps failed due to bad placement of the computer box on top of the engine where they fried from heat soak, blocks cracked in the main journal webs, headgaskets blew in the rear cylinders from lack of coolant flow. I replaced mine with a brand new version built by the company that supplied them for the Humvee refits a few years ago. Far superior to the original. Still runnin' strong! I'd love to find a 1/2 ton stepside (or whatever they called the version) with a 6.5 and play with it. You do have to become your own expert if you want to run a 6.5 with any degree of reliability, though.
The best part is being able to say you have a 396 Suburban! (6.5 = 396, give or take a cube) |
Yup, probably would have looked for one back in '97, if I knew about them. Can't go back in technology now. My 2011 has rack and pinion steering and coil over front suspension. WAY better ride and handling than even my 2000.
