Krieg Bros Chevrolet in Texas

This dealership has been closed for some time now, but a friend is preparing his '67 for PV (Performance Verification) judging so we took a road trip to have the car pose for a photo at this nostalgic building. It was a beautiful 65 degree day and we had to run the 427/435 to redline for the PV preparation. The car did well with only one issue that we could find needing attention. The odometer and trip odometer were right on during a 20 mile charted course. The clock kept perfect time. The car pulled a bit to the right due to heavy winds from the North, but it ran steady going back on the same road. No squeaks or rattles, what a great ride on a February day.

Damn, that's a cool old pic too. 1936 outside and looks like a '38 inside. |
Chris, thank you for finding the original shot.....

VERY nice, both the car and building. Looks like the building is for sale with the signs in the window. I'm surprised with the way antiques are these days, someone keeps the building and refreshens the structure to make it safe and sound, and runs a store out of it of some sort.

Thrall, TX. About 40 miles Northeast of Austin.

Great pic Tim and thanks for sharing. Nothing beats a black/red stinger '67 big block convertible. Good luck with the PV. Great car.

Awesome shots - thanks for sharing. Good luck to your friend.

Outstanding, what an awesome car and great location for the picture!
|
That no one has repainted that building after all this time is amazing. What a killer photo op!
|
I'm going to stop by there next time I go that way. Cool old building.

Wills Point
My dad was born in Wills Point. How far away is the old dealership building from Wills Point?
Thanks |
Its a little over 200 miles from Wills Point. Its down towards Austin. I go right by there when I go fishing in Port Aransas.
|
The building is about a half mile south of Hwy 79, right across from the post office.
The local police pulled up while we were there as we were kind of blocking part of a lane of traffic. He got out of his car, took a picture, waved and left. |
Great pic! Best of luck.

Krieg
Did the NCRS report come back with Krieg ? Just asking because I can’t find anything showing they were still there in 67.
Thanks, Paul |
No, this was just a photo shoot. The car wasn't delivered there.
