Usps service

I've purchased 50 things in the past month and have received less than 30 percent of them. All have tracking numbers..everyone else having that problem?.maybe theres an outside chance a few hundred thousand votes are still in the system. Lol......

KevinW 12-17-2020 08:33 PM

yes, this has been happening for months now. I have been checking tracking and the packages go on these wild goose chases for some reason. They all make it eventually, like packages going inside NJ, show up in mid Pennsy before heading back to NJ, very strange! Most recent was a package shipped from NJ to Seattle. It went to Anchorage Alaska a couple days ago and no updates since then. Just have to have faith!

EZ Nova 12-17-2020 08:34 PM

YEP, took an extra WEEK to get my moms iPad shipped in as it's a Christmas present. Many many are taking a lot longer with shipping delays.

the427king 12-17-2020 08:43 PM

For me its been great other than the last 4 weeks specifically. We are talking 24 days for an item to go from NY to CT !!

CamaroNOS 12-17-2020 08:44 PM

I think we are all feeling the pain of delivery services.

The only one that I use now is FedEx, they are still offering great service when I need them.

I’ve been waiting on a medical device for my Son from FedEx for 8 days now. Shipping from Mississauga to Oakville! (Those two cities share a border for those not familiar!)

plumL78 12-17-2020 09:01 PM

i ordered something off ebay 2 weeks ago. usps tracking shows it hasn't left yet

MosportGreen66 12-17-2020 09:24 PM

We had a caliper hung up on the USPS process. Dave spoke to a helpful Post Master who said heavy time of year volume and widespread Covid specific personnel issues have made for significant delays all showing the same tracking # issue.

Vern B 12-17-2020 09:44 PM

A few billion will fix those problems.

the427king 12-17-2020 09:46 PM

I ordered something off ebay 2 weeks ago. usps tracking shows it hasn't left yet..

I'd say you have a different problem in that your seller didnt ship yet. Which is the next problem. Many sellers buy or make your item after the sale and Ebay let's them get 45 days to ship it to you. The rest of us get banged if we dont ship within 48 hrs.

Jonesy 12-17-2020 09:46 PM

I would not use them for anything important. I cringe when I buy something and the seller sends me a tracking number for USPS.
I would rather pay more. I lost one order in early November and have been waiting 3 weeks for another order that still says its at the PO where it was sent from.
Othe USPS orders got sent and then just randomly show up and the tracking is not accurate.

Fedex and UPS have had no issues at all.

67 Nova Boy 12-17-2020 10:41 PM

I bought something off eBay and it came from Canada on October 4th...just got it last week.

Over 2 months to get it. Good thing they pack well!

I'm having the same issues with USPS, ordered a bunch of stuff from Inline Tube 3 weeks ago and it made it to Iowa a few days ago but its now in Minnesota according to the tracking number.

markjohnson 12-18-2020 05:24 AM

Reading these comments I realize I’m not alone. I have an extremely rare, absolutely irreplaceable rare part that’s been stuck in “Usorda’” since mid-November. I’ve been losing hope. It’s not just a loss to me, it’s a loss to the world.

169indy 12-18-2020 05:25 AM

As long as My Kaiser Wa Meds make it in good time, EVERY thing else is trivial.

mssl72 12-18-2020 05:35 AM

I've had a few things shipped to me USPS lately. They have arrived, but were late. I also had another item that was shipped FedEx and was also delayed. There's a lot going on out there with COVID and coupled with the holidays there's bound to be delays longer than normal.

parkbrau 12-18-2020 05:56 AM

Me, no gripes at all with USPS. 99% gets shipped through Chicago and makes it over here then gets put in the Military postal system.

Ralph Spears 12-18-2020 06:10 AM

One problem i have is the people i ship things to do not even have the courtesy to tell me they received the part i sent them

SuperNovaSS 12-18-2020 06:18 AM

I only got mail delivered once in the last week. With that said, usps has scanned all the packages they were supposed to deliver as delivered even though I haven’t received them. It’s messed up.

Like a few others mentioned, it's been going on for months, long before the silly season started.
We've had a few packages 3-4 months ago that were simply lost and never recovered, on 3 separate occasions. I never got an explanation on any of it, no idea what happened or where it went. Had tracking numbers on all of it that eventually went dead. I eventually just got a notification they were sorry and to place another order. So I had to reorder everything.

No problems of lost packages since then but everything has been later than promised. I even paid for expedite shipping a couple of times and it still wasn't getting here any faster than normal. So I wouldn't recommend wasting money on that either.

Even had trouble with UPS back in June. Ordered a few car parts from Summit that were coming out of the Nevada warehouse. It's always here at my door in AZ the next day. 3 days go by and nothing. Check the tracking number and find out it was in Tennessee for some strange reason. When they realized it, they sent it back to the Ohio warehouse, lol. By the time it finally got back to me it was over a week and had traveled across the country twice.

I've gotten to the point this year I'm nervous about ordering anything and don't hold my breath on delivery times.

Looks like everybody's in the same boat from reading the info linked below.
I don't have much faith that anything will improve any time soon.

The post office seems to be right on time though as far as receiving bills!

I've likely shipped 50-60 items over the past few months and it's been all over the map the entire time. USPS and Canada Post alike have had huge clearing issues and delays in shipping, and FedEx has been messed up too from the 20 times I have used them. They are not paying out on claims or extremely poor service delays and they simply blame Covid.

We had two calls yesterday telling us that our mail had been returned to sender. The envelope had a sticker on it stating "undeliverable - mail could not be delivered as addressed". One of them was a bill from our utility company and we have lived at this same address for 20 plus years. Our newspaper hasn't been delivered the last two weeks. An order from ebay was supposed to have been delivered last Saturday. I would say the post office has a problem and we can't contact them about our mail because they won't answer their phone.

x33rs 12-18-2020 02:33 PM

Yeah everyone blames the beer virus for everything now. Getting tired of hearing that excuse.

Jonesy 12-18-2020 03:40 PM

I had a USPS package that said it was delivered at mailbox if you tracked it.
It was Saturday and I was home waiting for it. It never made it.
So now I had to call the seller and tell him I didnt get it. It was from Heartbeat City.
They promptly resent the order UPS and I got it in two days.
They could have told me to get lost. Now thats customer service!!
Its kind of hard to plead your case when it showed delivered!!!

JKZ27 12-18-2020 04:11 PM

I currently have about 4 items in USPS limbo. One is not replaceable for the price I paid. I still trust they'll show up but likely not till January or later. USPS has been fine for me over the years except for 2 items that got lost. They eventually just showed up a year after they were expected.
Also, Is anyone able to view tracking on the USPS site? It seems they're asking to pay for "premium" tracking to see any detailed movement beyond ship date and expected arrival date.

427.060 12-18-2020 09:37 PM

Check the tracking history on this one. According to the post office the label was printed in Cleveland and the package was delivered in South Carolina all within 3 hours. I'm still waiting for the package.

The package was finally delivered a few days ago.

I had a priority mail package sit in a sorting facility in New Jersey for 10 or 11 days. I called my local post office and spoke with a supervisor. He initiated a search. The package was located and delivered a couple days later.

Me too! Sent the seller a request through eBay, haven’t heard anything yet

Usps now delivering twice a day here.

RPOLS3 12-21-2020 07:25 PM

I bought a carb from Eric (Ohio) and he shipped it FedEx on Friday 12/18 and it showed up at my office in Northern IL today (Monday 12/21). Was not supposed to deliver until tomorrow - pleasantly surprised it was early. I'm not usually that lucky.

BJCHEV396 12-21-2020 07:56 PM

I bought a radio off of Jason Booth a.k.a.SuperNovaSS.He shipped it USPS from California, went thru Customs, and got here today to Eastern Canada in 10 days! That's excellent during Covid and Xmas rush! Thanks Jason great service as usual! Merry Christmas.

BJCHEV396 12-21-2020 07:58 PM

And he sent me a partial shipping refund, lol! Very honest man!

enio45 12-21-2020 08:53 PM

gotta give it some time thru the holidays to sort it self out.....unusual times for sure

mostly everything will be late..

Bill Pritchard 12-22-2020 12:04 AM

On 12/14 I mailed seven parcels. Three of them were Priority Mail boxes, picked up at our house by our regular mail carrier during her regular delivery route. All three made it to their destinations on or ahead of the projected delivery date. The other four were large manila envelopes which I took to the Post Office and mailed via First Class mail. None have arrived yet. Last Friday the tracking service said they were out for delivery by 9pm that day (really??? the Post Office delivering up to 9pm??? :haha: ). Today it says that two have just left the Phoenix AZ facility and the other two just say they will be "late" :dunno:

For the most part though, I have no issues with the USPS.....I think they do a good job for the $$.

Missing 4 piston calipers using USPS

I sent a pair of original 68Z calipers to Lonestar on May 28th 2020, and insured them for $500.00. Calipers have never been found. In August I was informed a picture of the broken empty box was taken in a USPS facility in Tennessee ? (Sent from Phoenix to Dallas area).
USPS wanted a receipt for the calipers to consider the insurance coverage. After many conversations and emails I ended up with the Customer's Advocates office in Washington DC.
Because of a lack of a receipt for 52 years old calipers, they decided they were worth $217.70, I wrote them to explain the cost difference between common Camaro calipers and the 67-68 4 piston variety. No response.
Beware insuring anything you don't have a sales receipt for. I even sent them the invoice for the replacements I had to buy. The local UPS folks told me the same thing. No proof of purchase value no refund !!

the427king 12-22-2020 01:12 AM

Theres never been a delay when it comes to the price increases. You charge someone for 2 day priority and it takes 20 days..So you pay for a service you dont get

I did that as well and it took 11 days on a two day priority mail. Told the postoffice and they

just laughed.
