Unrestored Survivor '69 Torq Thrust 15x6 Wheels

This has to be one of the best original sets of 15x6 Torq Thrusts in existence. These were purchased new in 1969 and installed on a 1968 GTO with the original American Racing lug nuts. I bought them a few years ago from the 2nd owner of the GTO, intending to use them on an early Camaro, but came upon a set of early 15x7 Ds so I'm offering these up.

Original gold finish, never painted, and these are the peaked spoke design wheels with machined lips. Included are 19 of the original 20 lugs with integrated washers. Sorry, I have no idea where the 20th one went. Looking for $1600 for the set of four. Will have pics shortly.

Thanks sYc!

15x6 were called Sport Wheels and have a fairly shallow backspace. Is that what these are? Is there script on the backside?

Pics...took a little longer than I had hoped!

Those are very nice, Tony. GLWS.

bergy 08-24-2020 12:48 PM

so - these would work on 69 Camaros - correct? Are they the same configuration as Atlas/no-name wheels used by Yenko?

scuncio 08-24-2020 12:51 PM

I believe so. They work on 1968 Camaros with E70-15 front tires.

scuncio 09-01-2020 02:58 AM

Reduced to $1500. I don't believe you will find a nicer set that isn't NOS!

scuncio 10-03-2020 02:59 AM

These amazing straight-spoke TTs are still available.

scuncio 10-25-2020 11:53 PM

I’m surprised these are still available, but they are....

If I didn't already have a set, I'd be all over them! They look great on 69 Camaros.

scuncio 10-29-2020 12:15 AM

Those wheels look incredible on that '69! Thanks for posting!

JKZ27 10-29-2020 12:55 AM

Someone needs to buy these wheels!
I keep looking, just not in the position. GLWS!

scuncio 10-31-2020 12:12 AM

I agree, some of the best looking wheels ever made.

scuncio 12-13-2020 12:19 AM

I know someone out there is looking for a Xmas present for himself....

Too Many Projects 12-13-2020 01:20 AM

Those wheels inspired me to paint the grey TT's on my Black '70 SS Chevelle, Gold in 1974. Apparently, someone else wanted them more and stole them a short time after they were painted...:mad2:
Nice wheels Tony, but I'm trying to keep the available funding for restoration work. I pulled the Camaro in the shop today and started stripping paint on the left quarter for dissection...

scuncio 12-13-2020 01:48 AM

Totally get it. Good luck with the quarter!

Anyone's wife still asking what you want for Christmas?:hmmm:

I can deliver these gorgeous wheels to MCACN free of charge.

dannystarr 11-06-2021 05:24 PM

I would take them. I already have some but I want to gift a set to my buddy. Now all I need is to find someone going to MCACN that is from Oklahoma that lives around OK City. Maybe with-in 3 or 4 hours any direction. I can have my buddy meet you. Once I know that, then I will pull the payment trigger. Anybody??... Danny

dannystarr 11-07-2021 10:29 AM

Tony,
In what state are these wheels located? ... Danny

scuncio 11-07-2021 01:22 PM

They are in Michigan, Detroit area.

dannystarr 11-07-2021 05:05 PM

YIKES.. That's all the way across the US from me. Well maybe someone will chime in that lives in the middle of the US and can pick them up at MCACN. ... Danny

Lynn 11-08-2021 12:15 AM

Danny. I MAY be able to help you out.

I plan to be at MCACN, but as I have stated in another thread, it depends on my Mom's condition. Even if I go, I need to verify that I can fit four wheels in with all the other stuff I am already bringing home (if I get to go).

I live in Guthrie, just North of OKC.

I will send you a PM, and keep you posted.

dannystarr 11-08-2021 01:21 AM

Ok,
So Tony this is starting to look like it could work out for the wheels. Lynn is about an hour from my friend in OK. Please hold off on selling until ya check with me. Would like "right of first refusal" please. This could work out after all. Are you good with this for now? ... Danny

scuncio 11-08-2021 02:42 AM

I don’t want to put Lynn in a tough spot given his mom’s situation, which may affect his ability to go to MCACN right up to the day before the show. I have a few other guys who expressed interest. If Lynn won’t be able to transport the wheels for you, will you cover actual shipping cost? If so, I’m comfortable doing the deal, let me know.

dannystarr 11-08-2021 11:30 AM

Shipping/Insurance if packed well would be about $100 a rim or MORE. Would rather not have to spend another $400 of course. But surely don't want to create anymore stress for Lynn. I guess we will see how it plays out. D

dannystarr 11-08-2021 09:32 PM

Tony,

PM sent ... Danny
