Tom Fletcher's '69 Z28 was sponsored by Taylor Rochester also there's Members here w/ Taylor delivered cars, click here... https://thesupercarregistry.com/foru...01#post1457301 :beers: ~ Pete . |
Thanks

I also believe they sold the 427 woodgrain sided station wagon that's sitting in the GMs museum. It's rumored to have drag racing history. I grew up in Rochester and worked with the daughter of the dealership owner. They actually did some work on my 74 Z back in the early 80s. I needed to have the studs replaced on my axles.

Wonder if there are any older muscle car guys around who would remember the hot cars they sold??This car was a late build car sept 69..

The big 3 Chevy dealers in the Rochester area were Taylor, Heinrich, and Hallman. I owned a 69 Z28 that was sold from Taylor. All would have sold some performance cars; but probably Heinrich was the more performance oriented. They sold a 67 Z28 that was campaigned in SCCA races. A black COPO was sold by one of the suburban dealers. One other notable "car" sold in Rochester was an LS6 El Camino. There was one other 67 Z28 sold in Rochester that I know of. And Heinrich sold a - - 68 Z28 that was pretty loaded.

Great Heinrich Chevrolet Rochester info/pics/cars in this past thread... https://www.yenko.net/forum/showthread.php?t=144552 :beers: ~ Pete . |
The Taylor building was leveled for a store, Hallmans facade is a coffee shop and Heinrich is now a Volunteers of America facility. My '74 Z is from Heinrich and I've got parts on it from the the other 2!

"Was there a Nesbit Chevrolet in the Rochester area? " That one doesn't ring a bell with me, but that doesn't mean there wasn't one in the area. |

Most Newspaper ads of the day were shared by area Chevy dealers as below example and Nesbit not one I see or have anything for but best may be check in w/ Member fsc66 as his Dealer Database is much more extensive than the NCRS has or other listings. :beers: ~ Pete . |
Thanks - I went to school with Tom Nesbit. He claimed that his dad had a dealership in the Rochester, NY area. Always drove a brand new Corvette. He was a room mate in an apartment that I shared with 3 other guys. Between us we had: a brand new Corvette, a brand new L78 Nova, a 66 442 conv, and a 58 Chevy 4 door. The 58 was mine :-(
I always told the group that we should share each others stuff (including cars). It worked and I was able to drive their cars quite a bit. They never asked to drive mine though. |

Was his Dad's dealership perhaps operating w/ another name, maybe Frear/Brown or one of the others?:hmmm: Cool you were sharing cars, what 'Vettes did he have also what of the L78 Nova color/trans? :beers: ~ Pete . |
