'69 X77 Z/28, Orig Yellow on Yellow, Clean Project

Now this is one worth restoring...owner has had it 25 years and it looks way better than most 'restorable' Z/28 projects I've seen. Not the original block or trans, but still a desirable project with great colors.

I doubt I would ever do another yellow interior car. The replacement interiors are horrible & the real stuff is impossible to find....Joe

Great ad with good photos and description...for once!

Has the tic toc tach, 8000 rpm tach? I thought this was a 68 option?

X2! Just installed a yellow interior. Terrible. Each piece was a different shade of yellow!

I have always wondered if someone ever rigged those up to dispense bleach for a big smoky burnout. :D

NorCam 05-13-2020 11:47 PM

A couple minutes to go. I wonder if it will see any last-minute bids?

X66 714 05-14-2020 12:25 AM

1 bid. 18k...Joe

It's coming to Alberta and my son and I will be restoring this one.

Motorhead848 05-14-2020 06:11 PM

Looks like it’s going to a good home! Congratulations! And good place for it with the liquid tire chains!

Congratulations - looking forward to following along. Looks like a good project.

COPO 05-14-2020 08:30 PM

Congrats and should be a great father-son project.

wayoutz 05-14-2020 09:51 PM

can you tell me if thats an 010 block dated sometime aug sept 69?

wayoutz 05-14-2020 09:56 PM

steve shauger, block stamping look familiar? Its the exact assembly date as mine and the fonts are identical, how about that! You know JM hates me for saying what he did.

NorCam 05-14-2020 11:00 PM

Yes, it's an 010 block and it's a complete motor from Carburetor to oil pan.

I'll get the casting date on it tomorrow.

Thanks. That motor was assembled the exact same day as mine in my 1969 Z28 survivor and stamping is identical. Thanks for sharing

Glad it's heading to a member here!
Looks like that single bid didn't hit reserve, but were you able to negotiate the NOS quarters into the deal?

Yes, Tim. I got the rear quarters in the package. I'll start a thread on it when things get started.

Congrats Graeme.Nice to see the car's coming up here!

Jonesy 05-17-2020 10:26 PM

Not bad. I would have loved to own that.

NorCam 05-18-2020 12:54 AM

It had a stint in Minnesota back in the early '90s from what I've learned. I'm going to hunt for the original owner in ND and see if I can obtain a Cert of Origin? Hopefully ND DMV still has access to MF records?
