On Kijiji Edmonton, could be a 6-Cyl. car originally but Factory Orange may make this '70 Acadian Coupe worth doing?:hmmm:
https://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details...teLocale=en_CA
$ 5500 Cdn. isn't much more than 4-thou US, needs lots but looks like nobody's dicked w/ it much yet also original Acadian trim still there too.
No mistake about it w/ GM Canada docs available but love to see the Trim Tag and color designation.
:beers:

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it was white from the factory! :)

Rebelrouser 06-07-2020 05:01 PM

An Acadian with a 454 from factory! I'd very much like to see the GM doc's on that one and pic's of the engine bay. Those would tell the whole story.......

Just reading about that car on the Poncho Site,...apparently the VIN and trim tag were removed to be .... ? Stefano was correct , apparently an original white car

This was the tag pic posted on the Cdn Poncho site with the ad. Isn't 65 65 Hugger Orange ?? but looks like the firewall was white ??
No original Big Block Acadians documented that I have ever seen. Lots of claims.

chevelleheart 06-08-2020 05:27 PM

Well that’s interesting,...definitely Carousel Red paint code for 1970. I was just of what was posted on the other site,.. about the vin and cowl tag being removed.
Gonna be an interesting car to follow, pretty rare if it’s real , and then hopefully it gets restored too.

Look carefully as the Kijiji ad actually states 1 of 4454 1970 Acadians produced, not 4x 454 cars?
Whether that # even correct or highlighted #'s in the ad intentional or not, exactly Zero 454 cars were actually built.

I read it as 1 of 4454 Acadians produced.

YENKO DEUCE REGISTRY 07-09-2020 08:30 PM

Cool car, I don't see anything fishy about that one....should be built like a COPO and raced in PSMCDR!

EZ Nova 07-18-2020 01:12 PM

Now I heard over the years, there were no BB Acadians made. So if Charlie is correct and probably is, one could do a 454 for the drags.

I do however do recall hearing about 2 LT1 Acadians that were supposed to be built and I believe sold out of Belmont? Like the Canadian Acadian version of a Yenko Deuce. 1 was silver 4sp that I saw with some sort of funky "factory" traction bar. Do not know anything about the other car at all.

Member Midyear/Lance Hill who was ordering the Belmont cars could confirm but the story sounds like the 2x LT1 Novas sold @ Central Chev which were the only two not sent to Yenko.
One was known scrapped but other found by sYc Member Peter Simpson as this 2001 Feature link, still w/ his family since Peter's passing a few years back...

Ok I know of Pete's Nova. But why/how was one known to be scrapped and stayed there? Just like Strato's COPO Chevelle that was known scrapped, and he was told it was crushed by the yard owner, yet shows up fully restored a couple years ago?

The LT1 Nova I saw was silver 4sp but tubbed, with leaf springs and traction bars? This was late 80's early 90's, on within an hr of London Ontario, while on my way back from Sparta dragway. I wonder being that close to London if that might have been the 2nd car that was scrapped?

John Brown 07-19-2020 05:25 AM

I recall Pete saying the second car was green. Supposedly, it had been wrecked.

EZ Nova 07-19-2020 12:12 PM

The one I LOOKED at back then was silver. I remember the guy saying it was the Canadian version of a Yenko Deuce! That for me was the first time I heard the YENKO name. That car was for sale. I'm wondering if it actually IS/WAS the same car as Pete?

I never met Pete before his passing. But my crew chief on my car, his uncle built Pete ZL1 for the white Camaro. I also know of a couple guys that helped get that Camaro back to him after it was stolen.

442w30 09-01-2020 05:51 AM

350 top engine for that generation Acadian.

And, yes, Pete's car was 1 of 2 Novas that was sent over the border. Don't remember the story but it's not Canadian other than from where it was sold new.
