WTB - Nice Second Gen Camaro 70-73 w/ Minimal Rust
I'm looking to build a Day II car with my son. He likes the 2nd gen Camaro's and we'd really like to find a nice driver or a complete roller car to build together. Ideally, an RS equipped car that's restorable without needing major panels and floors replaced. Numbers don't really matter at all.
Anyone have a clean restorable car stashed away they'd consider selling? :worship: Thanks in advance... |
|
ooops, never mind, just saw it's sold. Sorry!
|
'72 RS in Dallas, TX for $5,500. Just saw the ad. Not mine.

Sent the seller a message. Thanks for the link. I think I also saw that one on NastyZ28
Body looks decent. |

Interested in a 79? A local friend of mine (who bought the 80 from me) has a couple he is going to sell |

I recall seeing a nice clean sun baked California Camaro that seemed to fit your description about a month ago. I’m Re-tracing my steps, and continue to keep an eye out for ya.
|
Sun baked would be nice.
I checked out the one in NY and suspect it has issues so I've moved on and will continue looking for a good body. |

Here’s a 1972 RS... not the one I had seen in the past.

That one's not an RS Helmut. It's a base car that someone put the split bumpers onto and doesn't have the converted front end pieces. As you can see, it has the rectangle park lights below the bumper. RS has round ones above the bumper which is the easiest way to spot a real RS car.
|
Good point. I used to know that, but haven’t looked at 2nd gen Camaros for many years. I got fooled by a quick glance at the split bumper. Oops!
|
If only we could remember the differences in all the cars we love, and all of the year to year changes between them. It's an ever-evolving learning process for me.

Not exactly my cup of tea. Thanks though

I never knew that....huh!:scholar: |
I haven't found the second Gen I wanted (Yet), but think I found the right 55 Post to tweak and finish off/build with my son. Hoping to close on it today and start tweaking it this summer. A real solid older hot rod with good bones and such. More on that later.
I'll still keep my eyes open for a good 2nd gen roller but have time to be a bit more discerning about the quality of the body and panel. Later... |
Looking forward to seeing pics of that ‘55 post!
I recall the ‘55 that I used to see you run around in... if memory serves me correct? |
Yup...started building this one in 2010 and kept it until 2014 when I sold it. It now resides in Riverside CA and is naturally aspirated at 732hp on pump gas, which makes for a fun little street machine. About to start another one but this time it'll be all period correct Day II stuff and a roller small block.

That is one sweet 55!

YES!!!! keep the fun going as long as you can. Three peddles are the only way to go.
DD is a different story though. Dave 67 Nova Boy |
You.... err I mean your son would love driving this to school

Believe it or not, he doesn't like the Pro Street look and prefers the purist type look. That back halved car just won't work.
|
With all the muscle cars around, its no wonder that the son takes after dad!
Good luck in your search. Dave 67 Nova Boy |
