The Worlds Only Classic Camaro ZL-1 Expert Indicted.
This guy has the balls to claim he is the worlds only ZL-1 expert, all while running a scam.
"Hello! My name is Spencer Wetherall and I am an award winning classic car restoration specialist. In fact, I am the only classic Camaro ZL-1 expert in in the world. In addition to running my business, Wetherall Restorations, I also own, write, and direct Time Machine Camaros, a TV show about classic car restoration." What will we ever do now the our only expert has been indicted? https://www.linkedin.com/in/spencer-...all-a4b033149/ https://dockets.justia.com/docket/co...cv02294/191105 https://www.thegentlemanracer.com/20...dicted-by.html |
I remember this dude's eBay ads.

Ya he has screwed quite a few people over if you type his name in google.

Just another black eye to the hobby and industry due to another a$$wipe trying to get rich off the sport by stealing. I have truly had my fill with some people!

Rick,
I certainly agree with you but at least he finally got what was coming instead of creeping into the shadows. Although is seems many guys are back to their old tricks as soon as they are out. Jason |

Rick's right as these asses make things difficult for the shrinking group of honest/true professionals...which this kook is neither of. We touched on him a few years back in this thread, maybe others... https://www.yenko.net/forum/showthread.php?t=139222 :bs: ~ Pete . |
Must have missed this guy as I have never heard of him before...what TV station had his show?

Police say Frederick Spencer Wetherall collected nearly $1 million dollars from customers who found him mostly via eBay, hoping to buy clones of the classic 1969 Chevrolet Camaro ZL-1. Wetherall was released on a $15,000 bond and is set to appear in court on February 3rd, 2020. |
Released on a $15k bond...wow.

Is this the same guy? Same town in Colorado.

I think he was using photos from the ZL1 "Street" Camaro COPO 9567 Clone that had been around for a long time and was for sale
I think he had posted photos of it to try and sell clones or get deposits ZL1 Camaro COPO 9567 Clone auction https://www.barrett-jackson.com/Even...REATION-162358 |
Yep, that one as well as blue one always on ebay taking deposits.

He got one of my friends for $70k, he had to redo the paint, upholstery, exhaust, transmission which was an Oldsmobile not a chevy. Enginr broke a rod with less than 300 miles on it and the vinyl roof was put on wrong. Once he received the car and saw all the mistakes, and, the parts used were not Chevrolet parts, he wrote him a 5 page letter with pictures and concerns. He never accepted the certified letter.

5 years ago I gave him a deposit. To date I am out $65 K and have NO car. The money is gone. I went out twice. Saw his shop and his builds. Sent me and others the same pictures of progression on my car. Both times I went out my car was in the paint shop being prepped. Hopefully he will go on n extended vacation soon. But I doubt it.:confused2:

This is a perfect reason I had T shirts made with my slogan “I GOTTA GUY”
