What Will The Bullitt Mustang Sell For?

Another chance to guess the selling price of this iconic car. Note that this is a public poll so others can see what you chose.

The car goes across the block on Jan. 10th.

I was going to vote for an amount between $2.5MM and $3MM. Insanity, yes, but with the current economic conditions, a lot of people have significant disposable income and this is a status thing to many of them. It may be more than that, but I think somewhere south of $3MM but around $2.5MM. JMHO.

Arguably the coolest McQueen knick-knack and easily the most visible. Guessing it breaks the bank as a significant historic relic, and sells to a new client.

15M (or 50M, in RM money?).

If John Stalupi is there and I'm guessing he will be since this auction is right in his back yard, and if he wants the car, no telling how much it will bring. Money seems to be no object to this guy when he sees something he wants.

I think it would be really fun to watch if John Stalupi, Ron Pratt, and Rick Hendrick all wanted the car and were bidding against each other!

Maybe throw in a representative of the Brothers Collection to make it even more interesting!

Less than 2M, and it will never again sell for more than what it sells for this week.

Ryan1969Chevelle 01-07-2020 09:03 PM

5 Million

Beat me to it. $5 million for sure. I mean, the hero car from the 2000 Gone in 60 seconds movie sold for $1 million and it doesn't have near the following or the mystery that this car had after all of these years.

Ron Pratt bought Shelby's Super Snake for 5.5 million several years back. I think Bullet has just as much mystique and history, and is for all intensive purposes, a one of one just like the Super Snake. I know the other Bullitt was found but wasn't much more than a shell.
Plus this is going across the block before BJ gets rolling.

I can see this car going in the 5-6 million range. Will be interesting for sure and something I'd like to watch.

Lee Stewart 01-08-2020 02:08 PM

I sorta understand the removal of the "light bar" from the grill and also the removal of the "GT" emblems. What I don't understand is the removal of the Reverse Lights. :hmmm:

SS427 01-08-2020 02:23 PM

I'm with Chuck, 2M and we will likely never see that number again. I think even that is a stretch.

mockingbird812 01-08-2020 04:02 PM

$5.7M :cool2:

Tracker1 01-08-2020 04:48 PM

CAN ANYBODY supply an approximate time of day for this car going across on Friday (evening?)...trying to judge maximum sobriety.

Based on it's lot # (F150) I will take an educated guess and say between 5 and 6 PM EST.

Jonesy 01-08-2020 07:43 PM

I say 2.2 Million

olredalert 01-08-2020 09:58 PM

And with that, I'll honestly be surprised if it hammers for less than $3 million.

1969L89 01-08-2020 10:58 PM

$7.5 Million

Rallyegreen68SS 01-09-2020 01:11 AM

My guesstimate is 8.7 mil.

dykstra 01-10-2020 12:08 AM

What are the odds that Chad McQueen buys it??

Tenney 01-10-2020 03:31 AM

Will it stay in the U.S.?

Postsedan 01-10-2020 10:50 AM

Today will be a very exciting car frenzy at Mecum....it will be standing room only when the Bullitt Mustang hits the auction block.

Dan

dykstra 01-10-2020 11:07 AM

Any idea when it’s going to cross the block? 7-8pm??

markinnaples 01-10-2020 02:17 PM

I wonder why they decided to run it across the block on Friday instead of prime-time Saturday. I would have guessed that if it was at BJ, a prime spot between 5 and 9 PM on a Saturday would garner the most attention.

purple panther 01-10-2020 02:46 PM

I bet a lot of people this week watched the bullitt movie. I watched it about 5 times this week. There are some great cars in the movie

Update: The folks at Mecum project that “Bullitt” will cross the block between 1:00 to 2:00 pm ET.

EZ Nova 01-10-2020 03:57 PM

Is there a live feed to watch like Bj in Scottsdale?

EZ Nova 01-10-2020 03:58 PM

I see a live stream on there site through Youtube....

BCreekDave 01-10-2020 03:59 PM

Sales seem to be pretty good so far

If its an indicator, the numbers on other cars seem to be pretty good really.

Late BrakeU2 01-10-2020 04:16 PM

NBSCSN Live with the header Kissimmee 2020 "Bullitt Day" if that's any indication of the star of the show..

EZ Nova 01-10-2020 04:45 PM

Mecum is playing a little fast and loose with the term "STAR"!!!!

Mr70 01-10-2020 05:53 PM
