"Yyyyyyaaawn....(smack smack)... lets see, coffee is on, (scratch scratch)[stretch] mmmpf (crack) ah, there we go. Let me gets my YouPad out here...lemme see (www.yenko.net.. Ebay ads..). Ah, Scuncio. That guy.. what a guy. Man he finds some cool stuff. What's his deal anyway?:dunno: Hmmm, a 69 Judge project. (GASP) What?! Scunnyceeo says it's a good deal!?! I gotta send the seller a message before anyone else does!! But I already had two cups of coffee and that Burrito last night..ooooo......."

And as such, enter my new project, a new thread, and a new name;

"The Junky Judge"

Yes, this will henceforth be known as THE Project Car of Yenko.Net. Found by a member, bought by another member, probably transported from a member's recommendation, and paid for by the rest of yous members! Oh, funding will be through my own personal Go-F'me account! Wait, what's that F stand for anyway?:hmmm::biggthumpup:

So what you see here is a 1969 Judge, Carousel Red, Ram Air III, 4spd, 3.55 Safe-T-track, Black interior, with the optional rear defroster, rear speaker, and Redlines. A Baltimore car delivered to Cannaddianland (Sorry Ryan, I had to do that! ). Numbers matching engine, transmission, and original rear. Still has the T3 headlights in there too!

Welp, there you have it. Stay tuned for more details when it gets here in a couple weeks! A schedule of events, a timeline, and more true head-shaking moments are sure to follow!!

Cheers :beers:
Dave

It will be a great project!!!

Did you get PHS and VVS docs? (We tried the UVIP but no luck... western car)

RAIII, M20, 3.55.... or M21?

So, this is the GM you text me about?
Very nice :) .....it's a about time you get yourself into a full frame GM Muscle Car :)
Plus a Rare and Desirable Poncho....Well done Jersey Cowboy.

Dan

A12pilot 11-06-2019 11:35 AM

Yep, this is it, Danno!:headbang: And yep, got the PHS on it too, Ryan. Haven’t ordered the Canadian GM docs yet. The interior has never been apart so I’m hoping maybe to find a BS in there somewhere. We’ll see. It’s got some crust, a banged up rear crossmember which I’ll be talking to you about, Mikey:wink:. And of course, a lot of things need replacing (I mean, do I buy anything that doesn’t need everything replaced!?)

Very excited about this one!!! When I met first met Kelly I had just moved into my new house and the only muscle car I had at the time was a 67 GTO that had a dealer installed 66 tripower unit under the hood. Only other Goat I was set on getting at some point was a 69 Judge. And now that we’re in our new house, low and behold, a new Goat shows up!!:burnout:

Cheers:beers:

Dave

Wow, as if you didn't already have too much to do. I don't know how you do it. Man, that's going to be a great project, and I'm sure that the thread will be very informational and entertaining!

Ah ok, thanks. Now I remember it. I think the last Pattern Judge shipped out the day before yours Dave. So close. *But still investigating whether it may be a "pattern car" with a couple of weird options added/subtracted.

Approximately the first 2000 Judges (fluid number) were all of a pattern of options and were built in 5 plants and shipped hither and yon across America and a couple to Canada. They have similar options and are all Carousel Red.

Still have to original carb?Tom

A12pilot 11-06-2019 09:54 PM

Thanks guys! Can't wait to tear it down as soon as it gets here!

Des, I looked into that on the pattern cars. The first 1000 were all identical with the second batch of 1000 having other options allowed to be ordered. Interesting article posted over on the PY forum from "Smoke Signals", the POCI magazine. They were also identified by the Dealer Order Number starting with "00" in which case, mine does not. I didn't think my car was a Pattern car going into this and seems it was ordered directly around that time. It is eerily identical to one though!

Missing parts: Carb (of course:thumbsdown:), Distributor, Alternator (correct 37A, but later year), a few Ram Air underhood parts. Shifter is there, Dan with the open "4"!

So the hunt will start for the couple missing parts. I'm going to start into this one immediately when I gets here right after the 52 Ford Truck is done! :headbang:

Say....Anyone have a correct carb they want to sell me cheap!?:scholar:

Cheers:beers:
Dave

From the Registry, Red arrow is a pattern Judge, Blue arrow is yours, that's how close they are (!):

I saw that, but didn’t realize that the other was a Pattern car! So, does that make mine the first non-pattern Judge ever built?!?!:burnout::tongue::tongue: Just kidding. Crazy though!

Cheers

It's in the realm of possibility - though I think some non-patterns started showing up 2A....but dig into it.

Des, do I see a two-tone Judge?

I've seen a few '70s, but not a '69.

B1598? Yeah interesting huh?

StealthBird 11-07-2019 02:03 PM

The 'pattern' cars were ordered in batches by Pontiac. The Order Number represents the order assigned for that particular group of Judges, not an individual car. In other words, if we see Order Number 00051, there may be 1, 2, even 10 or more Judges could be in that group. Order numbers were not unique.

The 'pattern' cars were intended to flood dealerships to garner attention, and bright orange GTO's with rear wings and stickers will do that.

Pattern Judges were built as follows:

• Carousel Red
• 4-speed Trans
• Console
• Safe-T-Track Rear
• AM Radio
• Hood Tach
• Power steering
• Power Disc Brakes
• Rally Gauges & Clock
• Remote Mirror
• Soft Ray Glass
• Deluxe Seat Belts

Not all early Judges were pattern builds. Exceptions were made for automatic transmission and other options, but they were not part of the pattern build. Carousel Red remained the only color until approximately the 3rd week of February 1969, then Pontiac allowed any GTO color to be ordered with The Judge option.

It's pretty rare 69s and especially on a Judge. I seem to remember that only a handful have surfaced.

markinnaples 11-07-2019 04:10 PM

What would constitute a two-tone Judge? Painted roof?

Wow, yeah, do not remember seeing many of those if any. Vinyl tops, yes, but not too many painted tops. Those seemed to usually be on Nova's more so BITD.

442w30 11-07-2019 08:37 PM

There's also a RAIV car in the inverse combo. Was restored back to monotone but when it appeared in MCR years ago, it had the white top.

I actually have a two-tone page on FB:

Cool, I just completed the questions to join, thanks.

flyingn 11-07-2019 11:16 PM

very cool, Dave! It was a redline tire equipped Judge also. Very cool!

A12pilot 11-07-2019 11:22 PM

Breaking News!!! Unfortunately, the Junky Judge thread will be out on hold indefinitely. Well, definitely until I find another 69 to restore:mad::mad::mad:

I’ll sum it up in the best interest of not bad mouthing anyone, since this is a small hobby world and it pays to have friendships, and not enemies. Seems the seller has “financial issues” in dealings with the car, and my funding wasn’t what he wanted for Governmental purposes in regards to California income reporting and claims.:hmmm:. So, if one reads between those lines, you may be able to figure it out. But regardless, the check is routing back to me, so no Junky Judge:bs:.

I’m disappointed to say the least, but like I said, we all have things going on in our lives, and this is just a car, so there’s no need to get to upset about it. Although I’m pretty bummed as that was one I was on the hunt for ever since I owned my 67.

Sorry to disappoint everyone, but fear not! I’m always on the look and you never know what’s around the corner! Say...does anyone have a project 1969 Judge that identical to this one for sale??:hmmm:

Uggh...:beers:
