Fake car fake buildsheet “warning it’s a clone”
The build sheet body number is BB070260, trim tag has body number of B078268 this doesn’t happen and it has been listed in past by previous seller as a 396 years back when sold on racing junk . There is a big discussion about it on Facebook group for ls6 owners , the cats out the bag on this one, fake build sheet and a clone , truth be told

Fake build sheet “clone”
I can’t figure out how to post pics but a few other members on here already know about it being a clone I’m sure they will chime in once they see this , I have photos of car from years back when sold in Maryland with roll cage and wrong seats and was listed as a 396 in advertisement on racing junk

Yikes!
I hate this about our Hobby. Buyer Beware! Dan |
Fooled me....
|
It’s not good
I contacted seller on ebay and showed him proof and he is still selling it listed as ls6 project , I’m guessing he bought it this way and doesn’t understand the buildsheet is fake and many other things, I hope he does change description or end listing...I have a way better picture of trim tag as well that clearly shows body number with 8’s instead of zero’s but I can’t figure out how to post pics

Model: Chevelle. Condition: Used. Mileage: 45000. Engine: 454. Location: 11952, Mattituck, New York. SellerID: shrekman2012. VIN#:, 136370b167139 .
Mileage doesnt match, but vin came up in an ebay search. |
I’m wondering who cloned it
If it was sold from Maryland as a 396 ss to shrekman2012 and then was listed as a ls6 that may be who did the clone job and bought the horrible fake buildsheet with wrong body number , someone needs to put a stop to this nonsense of people cloning ls6’s !

This car was indeed an L34 that was cloned into an LS6 after it was sold by its longtime owner. The current seller probably got duped and is now left holding the bag.

Coats is previous sellers last name
Current seller on ebay said he bought it from a guy last name is Coats

Here is a screenshot of Jeff’s original ad for the car. He was very upfront about everything regarding the car when he was selling it.
|
Unbelievable
The guy selling it now is just seeing all these photos I think he is very upset.

Amazing the lengths some people will go to to fake a car. Changing out the tach, deleting the AC, forging the build sheet....

Pretty soon there wont be any Malibus left... |
Also a skilled inspector would spot the A/C Vents on the dash and block off plates under the hood knowing an LS6 never came with A/C LOL

fake ls 6
So do you think the block was vin less? The build date and engine code are real and the vin added?thoughts
|
Lots of flat bottom boats came with CRR code LS6 engines. They didn’t have partial VINs.
Jason |
Yes...most Crr coded blocks are 71 casting 512s, even 289 casted 72s... date changing a late 70 or 71 block is done to create a no vin crr block w early date..always check back of block for epoxied date number and letters
