Is the side stripe on that Grump's Group Camaro different than most of the rest of the Yenko Camaros? It looks like it rounds up a lot more than the others that look like there is more of a sharper angle than a rounding curve at the rear.

Good observation Mark but isn't it the same car before/after changes?:hmmm: Here's a few more pics including a couple later shots from when Chuck Wright had it. 124379N578713 :beers: ~ Pete . |

Yenko gave him a deal that included running it with the Yenko sponsorship Ed repaired the car and painted on the stripes |

this photo shows a 427 emblem mounted on the Chevy Bow tie
that is the same emblem treatment used on the gold Yenko Camaro magazine test car but looks like there are high/low holes left from the missing normal Yenko crest and 427 emblems locations |

found more pics of Ed in the Peterson Archive
The engine looks close to stock but ran low 11 second ETs |
Ed is the ultimate humble gentleman. I don’t think Ed ever met a stranger....just a friend that he hasn’t spoken to yet. I need to tease him and tell him he was much better at driving forward than backwards...look at the one photo of the passenger side rear tail panel just below the bumper. Lol. It is an honor to chat with him.

in the drag test article with the gold demo Camaro, Ed's car has the Yenko crest and 427 emblem in the normal Yenko location.
In later pictures , Ed has the Chevy bowtie with the 67 Corvette 427 numbers on it like the gold demo car had but without the Yenko crest |

Hello guys, where I could find the positioning all emblems for a 69 Yenko Camaro, fender hood and rear panel, i look for the exact position. Thanks

The hood and fender holes are less precise, as they were installed by high school kids on the weekends. No two are the same, but the "427" was normally placed roughly in the middle of the raised area of the cowl hood, and the "Yenko" on the fender was normally placed so the middle point of the crest is about 1/2" below the bottom of the Camaro script, and about midway between the M and A in CaMAro. |
You didn't ask, but the Yenko Stripe was not too precise, either, for the same reason. But normally, the side stripe was placed just below the key escutcheon on the door. The front of the stripe stopped anywhere from 1" to 7"-8" behind the rear of the sidelight. And the point where the stripe starts to widen to accommodate the lettering anywhere from about 1" to 10" behind the door opening. Stripe ends generally wrapped into the openings, and around the doors. The quarter panel applique was split somewhere forward of the lettering, and overlapped about 1/2" or so, which is why there is such a variation in placement.
The sYc arrow on the hood was placed anywhere from just behind the front of the hood to 1" in front of the hood. The gap between the arrow and the hood stripe was usually between 1/2" and 1". If you are placing stripes and badges on a real Yenko, look for signs of where they were originally placed. If you are building a Tribute, which is what I did, tape them up and move them around to the position you prefer. I looked at lots of pictures, and made actual measurements at a couple Supercar Reunions, to come up with the normative practice. |
