I got it for a 1970 454 Chevelle , if someone with more knowledge about this knows please comment. I will do some research on it too.

I think you are supposed to have an R79 , The R89 is a HD version for big blocks. This battery is the same physical size .

Y77 is what the late car's had

Scott pretty sure a side terminal battery like this was an extra cost option under the code T60 starting in 1970 as a Heavy Duty battery. One can also change the top label to R79W on the top to make it correct for many other applications like the 1970 Chevelle T60 Battery etc...
