60’s Ansen Top Eliminator Vintage Lug Nuts
3 Attachment(s)
Searching for vintage “acorn”style lug nuts that were originally supplied with 60’s Ansen rims back in the day. The nut is 7/8", shank diameter 11/16” x 1-1/16” length; 7/16”-20(RH) threads.
Any leads would be greatly appreciated.......👍 Thanks! |

At first glance, the EELCO acorn style lug nut appears to be the same as the acorn style lug nut manufactured by Mr.Gasket, but there is a difference when compared.
Since locating 5 used or NOS EELCO acorn style lug nuts is presenting a challenge, perhaps someone has a set of Ansen Top Eliminator/Sprint rims that are not so partial with originality and may consider selling the hardware? The EELCO acorn style lug nut size needed is 7/8" head, 3/4” shank and 7/16” (RH) threads. Thanks! |

I had these made for me for these vintage ET mags. The spirals are correct for these (not smooth). I'm sure you could have the same thing done from hex stock with a CNC.

Well done, very nice! I will have to explore this further as a possible solution.

I might just have to do that. I did not think that finding Ansen acorn style lug nuts would be somewhat challenging.

Still actively searching for the EELCO acorn style lug nut; size needed is 7/8" head, 3/4” shank and 7/16” (RH) threads or 1/2” (RH) threads.
Thanks |

I have a coffee can 'chock full o' nuts' I've been meaning to go though also bottom toolbox drawer I'll check. What of adding one locking style per wheel, even if only temporarily and would an NOS 4-pack like these Eelco nuts on eBay be enough to complete your set?:hmmm: https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Vintage...-/153465543340 Otherwise, how's things in Winterpeg Dave! Maybe you have it already but here's a pic way below I've been meaning to send you. :beers: ~ Pete . |

I do have a set of the EELCO locking lug nuts, but when placed among the EELCO acorn style lug nuts they look out of place. There were some on e-bay last week but I missed the listing......dang!
Thanks for the pic. |

Bummer you missed the ones on eBoy, I'll check what's here and ping you if any luck. How many more do you need to complete your set? :beers: ~ Pete . |

I am looking for quantity of 5 (7/16" - RH thread) and 5 (1/2" - RH thread). The Mr.Gasket acorn style version from back in the day are very close but when the two are compared side by side there is a difference. Thanks for keeping you eyes open.....much appreciated! |

Here are some close up pictures for reference. I am not too concern on the length as they can always be turned down if required.
Thanks |

What of adding some LH studs w/ LH nuts as these currently on eBoy... https://www.ebay.com/itm/16407326247...MAAOSwubdePxjR Even if temporary 'til you find more, only you'd know plus it could help thwart theft too? Also, if OSD of 7/16" and 1/2" the same, could you retap 7/16" LH to 1/2" RH?:hmmm: Even tapping 1/2" LH to 1/2" RH may work also if weaker, one @ each wheel Ok? Best of luck w/ your quest! :beers: ~ Pete . |
Still searching.....they seem to be hard to locate. Not sure why as many speed shop sold them back in the day. You can find Ansen rims but are usually without the lug nuts.
