Little Old Lady 67 Camaro

When Denis listed his 67 Z for sale and said he was selling other cars I renewed my bugging him about this 67 Camaro he has had for years. I think I started bugging him about 13 years ago. He bought this from the orig. owner years ago.She recently passed away at I think 94. Denis would send her a XMAS card each year with a picture of his cat and the Camaro but never heard back. After last years card he got a call from a woman who told him she had passed. But she also told him that she kept the XMAS cards on the fridge and would show them to everyone to came to visit. I managed to con Denis out of it yesterday and quickly talked a friend into going and getting it before he changed his mind. 55K miles, engine never out of the car. We think it was damaged at the dealership before she bought it as the right door and quarter have been replaced. Even the windshield was replaced but it has a 67 sticker on it. Thanks Denis.

Charley, I've seen that Camaro in person and it's really neat. I love the detail shots that you have, including the one with the missing nut!

Congrats on the purchase...

Minus 2 points for the shock absorber stud cap not seated properly. :burnout:

… wow... Nice camaro :worship:

----Very cool, Charley!!! Cars 52 years old don't get much better than this. Right around 1000 miles a year...….Bill S

Outstanding survivor… Thanks for sharing

L78M22Rag 05-25-2019 05:06 PM

He shoots he SCORES!!!

Nice survivor. OMG I love the patina and especially the red interior.

Denis, you have fine tastes in cars... congrats Charley!

Another driveway burnout coming? I wouldn’t hold it against you if you don’t put this car through that... but it IS kind of a tradition and those have been my favourite posts. Just sayin ;-]

Zedder 05-25-2019 05:37 PM

Now that is a cool car!

ruralrte66 05-25-2019 06:10 PM

Very neat Camaro, color combo, all original! The Best...

Helmut you should feel bad making my broken toed wife walk out to take the videos.

L78M22Rag 05-25-2019 07:44 PM

Sorry to hear about her broken toe. She’s the best! You’re a close second... ;-)

Made my day, especially on this rainy day here in Calgary.

That better be at MCACN this year for Vintage Certification.

This car reminded me of a car I saw on ebay a number of years back. I believe it was owned by a little old lady and was a black SS350 with yellow deluxe interior but had been hit in the back. I think it was original paint. I wonder whatever happened to it.

Lynn 05-25-2019 11:07 PM

1. You could have set up a tripod and saved her the trouble.

2. Did she break it kicking you in the a$$? We would certainly understand if she did.

Charley Lillard 05-25-2019 11:56 PM

One of her horses stepped on her big toe the day after Mothers Day. Several breaks. Ouch !!!!

So Denis said there was a bit of coolant leaking and figured it was a freeze plug. My luck the coolant was coming down from above the starter. I pull the starter and hard to tell as the freeze plug shows nice bare metal...I love Iphones. Was hard to see until I zoomed in. Was actually really clean inside the block.

Xplantdad 05-26-2019 01:48 AM

Pretty amazing pics!!

L78M22Rag 05-26-2019 02:38 AM

Yeah, I love iPhones too. So handy to turn the video on with the light and reach into places you’d never be able to see. Handy to reach into a fender looking for a build sheet, etc.

Lynn 05-26-2019 03:59 AM

Great pics.

I can't ever get that good a pic with my I phone. I am tech challenged apparently.
I am lucky if I can even make a call and retrieve a text.

Love, love, love the full wheel covers because they're such a refreshing look! Black/Red Guts . . . it doesn't get any better than that and I can actually smell that interior by just looking at those photos!

Zedder 05-26-2019 07:18 PM

What’s the story on the nose stripe?

Mr70 05-26-2019 08:11 PM

Keep the little old lady look.

No idea. It was there when she sold it to Denis.

Charley, This car never had the traction bar installed?

1967Z28 05-27-2019 04:44 PM

Is the front bracket for the bar there or just the two studs sticking through the floor?

Charley Lillard 05-27-2019 05:13 PM

I don't think powerglide cars got the bar.

Charley Lillard 05-27-2019 05:33 PM

No indication it ever had the bar.

John Brown 05-27-2019 07:33 PM

Looked on camaros.org when I first saw the pictures.

camaros.org/radiusrodl

CRG says brackets were installed on cars that never got the bars. Many of the glide cars being among them.

Charley Lillard 05-27-2019 08:28 PM

I doubt if this car ever had the bracket.

danachevroletfor1967 05-27-2019 09:40 PM

Charley, my '67 RS SS (350) with a powerglide looks exactly like yours regarding the radius rod brackets. The 2nd design axle bracket welded to the axle and no bracket installed on the underside of floor, just the 2 bolts coming thru the floor and of course no radius rod. My car is an 01D Norwood car.

1967Z28 05-27-2019 09:45 PM

CRG has seen quite a few of these cars with no bar and no front bracket and it was obvious neither were ever there.

Jonesy 05-28-2019 07:05 PM

That pic showing the crack is hopefully one of the freeze plugs and not the block.

I see liquid oozing out of what looks like a void/crack. Bottom right picture post #19

luzl78 05-28-2019 09:11 PM

Definitely the freeze plug
