1969 Camaro RS SS convertible value?

4 Attachment(s)
1969 Camaro RS SS 396 convertible Camaro. All born with drivetrain. 325 hp 396- 400 turbo. Documented with original dealer invoice and protect o plate. The car is a nice driver with the drivetrain never out of the car. The invoice has all of these options listed - am-fm, all tinted glass, Camaro SS, rally sport, front guards, rear guards, door edge guards, floor mats, vanity mirror, posi, power top, power windows, heavy duty battery, deluxe seat belts, console, special instrumentation, light monitoring, aux. lighting, special ducted hood, speed warning indicator, simulated wire wheel covers with the dealer adding luggage rack and undercoat. As said before this is a real car with all options working and intact. Quarters have been replaced with a re paint in the 80’s. Just a good driver condition vehicle. What is this car worth in today’s market as is. Thanks for any suggestions.

45-55ish depending on how driver quality. Int,engine, underneath pics would help determine value.

Was this car originally from Chicago?

Gasrat 02-22-2019 07:06 AM

Sold new at Johnson Chevrolet in Peoria Illinois

Gasrat 02-22-2019 07:37 AM

i have a copy of the invoice but cannot get it to load. I will have to get a copy of the protect o plate. I am not the owner of the car.

MYSTERYCHEVELLE 02-22-2019 12:22 PM

is this your car or one you are selling?

Gasrat 02-22-2019 02:43 PM

I owned this car several years ago and I am buying it back. I bought it from the second owner who bought it in 1970 so I know the car well. That is the invoice from when he bought it used at Johnson. The original owner bought it new at Johnson and traded it back in 1970.

Mr70 02-22-2019 02:47 PM

So he only owned it for barely 1 year?
What newer car did he trade it in for during 1970?

Gasrat 02-22-2019 02:57 PM

I'll have to talk to the current owner. I only have a copy of the invoice and it is a weak copy. I cant read all of it and I dont remember what he traded it in for.

Daves70SS 02-22-2019 03:36 PM

What town was it in when you bought it from the 2nd owner.

Was this car featured in a magazine article years ago?

Gasrat 02-22-2019 04:12 PM

The car was in Peoria all of it's life. It was not in any magazines that I know of.

Were the quarters done right or were they overlapped?

427TJ 02-24-2019 07:03 PM

Cowl hood and simulated wire wheelcovers AND a luggage rack! Love it!

Gasrat 02-24-2019 07:29 PM

Full quarters were installed in the 80’s.

Hard if not impossible to give good appraisals from pics, as every car looks way better in photos than in person. With that said, it looks great in pics. If it's as nice in person I'd say its worth on the higher side of the general estimates here. 45k doesn't buy as much 69 Camaro anymore if you start looking. This one looks great... with paperwork, factory SS/born with big block AND trans, as well as great colors.

Joe's just on this thread because someone mentioned the car might have been in a magazine. Still looking for that issue of Chevy Rumble, August 2008... LOL
