Guru paint spatter paints
Anyone have any experience with this product? I dont have anyone local that can do an authentic trunk spatter paint.

I used it. I was not happy with it. I felt the color gray was too light and the splatter was hard to control. It would spit out large spots that you would have to go over and re-do.The video shows the car on it side on a rotator. This would probably be beneficial so you could keep the can up right/parellel to the surface you are spraying. It seems the large splatter spots came when the can was tilted. My two cents.

I was actually thinking of using blacK epoxy primer as a base and just use the spatter. You think that would work? I will also apply it like they did in the video.

If it comes out of a rattle can it will not look good

I ended up buying a HVLP pressure pot to spray it.
come to think of it... A WAGNER Power painter may actually work well due to the way it vibrates/shakes and how it picks up and atomizes the paint... I am digging out the Power Painter the next one I need to spray... I may be totally off however I believe this may do the trick. |

Keeping it agitated enough to keep everything in solution was the difficult issue... That's why I was thinking power painter, plus the spatter of the power painter would work well... (I think) |

This is how the strings looked after spraying this 70 Camaro with the Berlage product. After a recent conversation with him he told me that the EPA forced them to reformulate it and it does not spray out as nice if you are wanting the stringy look.

I just sprayed mine with zolatone. Looks great and it is tuff as nails. takes a quart and a half to do a camaro size trunk . and you need a HVLP to spray it.

How about some close up shots of the Zolatone ? |
Beauty of ZOLATONE is no clear coat. As noted. Hard as a rock. No flash rusting even if moisture was to get in. My Danube Blue 66 SS was finished in 2001 and still looks like it was done yesterday. Web site may have close up but if not., I can take one

The reformulated Berlage product no longer needs to be cleared either.

I've heard of some using black epoxy primer and than spattering the aqua over the top.How do you make the paint gun spatter big tip,low pressure?

My Z has the epoxy primer with aqua spattered. The ppg code on aqua was 43816. Turned out nice. Hard to get a good picture in the trunk
