Dealership Photos
A new book is currently being written called, "Lost Muscle Car Dealerships". The focus of the book, much like Lost Road Courses and Lost Drag Strips I/II, will be to feature some of the dealerships from the muscle car era that committed heavily to selling these cars. By no means is this a complete list. If the book sells well we'll certainly take a look at adding a second volume. If you would like to contribute feel free to PM me or post below. I anticipate there will be a lot of "how come your not covering XXXXX?" Again, if the book sells well we would love to do a follow up. We can't use any old photo you find off the net. The rights would have to be yours.
We're looking for the following; Dealership shots of the exterior, interior and sales lots Race cars that ran with dealer sponsorship Performance cars that sold new through these dealerships Marketing tools (pamphlets, brochures, advertisements, merchandise, etc..) The book is really coming together. I just received over 50 photos of White Bear Dodge from the 60's and early 70's. Some amazing, never before seen imagery.
We're also looking to feature some supercars. If you have one that was sold through Hi Po dealer and it hasn't been seen in a book before please PM me. |
Not too much of a Ford guy, but you would have to figure Tasca Ford in RI to be a player, Sutliff Chev in PA (sponsor of Bruce Larson's Funny car) was big as well. Just my $.02
