Dave Lindsley's newest acquisition! 1967 W30 Olds!
5 Attachment(s)
On June 23rd, We went and had breakfast with Dave Lindsley. It was great to catch up on things with a really great friend. We're sad his wife couldn't meet up with us, but we understand she had lots to do today. We will get together next time! https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/e.../1/16/2764.png Dave also took the time to show us his new addition at his man cave.
Congrats on the new acquisition, Dave! Also, thanks for the great morning!!! |
Olredalert will enjoy these photos.

----Ryan,,, Other than the fact that Dave's car is cooler than mine,,,,yes!!! Spectacular 67 W30. The decal on top of the radiator shouldn't be there, but that is the worst kind of pitpicking!!! I wonder if this is Dale Smiths 67 W30. Sure looks like it......Bill S

Dave is indeed, a great guy!

67 442
Thanks Bruce for posting the pics. I just want to clarify a few facts about the 442. As we discussed this car is an undocumented W-30. I don't know much about 442's but I do know this car was built after the factory W-30's. I do believe this could be one of the 100 Dealer built "Track Pack W-30 cars. The drive train date codes match car as do the rare W-30 components. I've only had the car 3 weeks and any help trying to find out the history of this car would be appreciated. It's super straight, great paint, runs great and show quality. For those who know me yes I still have my 69 Z/28, 69 L78 Camaro, the 66 L79 Nova SS and my 67 Nova driver and both Novas are Marina Blue with blue interior. Maybe I can post some more pics of my Man Cave as there are 2 more rooms with automobilia and another garage next to the one shown.

Do it Dave! Dave's memorabilia collection is amazing to look at. You could look at it for hours...and still not see it all! :cool2: |
The pie plate on the air cleaner shroud should not be there.
|
Can you send a picture of how it should look?
Thanks |
Cool car(s)!!

Thanks for the pic!!!
This car is a radio/heater delete, battery in the trunk and no power steering. Are there any 442 websites where I can get info? Dave |

LOL - you mean a no radio, heater delete. The radio was an option not standard - you can't delete an option. Battery came standard in the trunk. That is why there are no 1967 convertible 442 W30s. It interfered with the top when retracted. Here is a site about the 1967 442 W30: http://www.oldsmobility.com/old/w30.htm Same site - more info: http://www.oldsmobility.com/old/ 1967 442 Brochure: http://wildaboutcarsonline.com/membe...ochure_1-4.pdf |
I can't tell from the posted photos . . . bench or bucket seats?
|
Lee,
Thanks for the 442 sites. Yes you are right the radio was an option and not deleted. My 69 Z/28 and 69 L78 Camaro do not have radios. The 442 has bucket seats. Thanks again for the info. Dave |
----Dave,,, The reference to Dale Smith (OEM Glass) is that he restored a black 2dr. post 67 automatic (rare) W30 quite a while back. It was beautiful as were all Dales restorations. He sold it later to a very good friend in Coral Gables, Fl, Dave Walters. Your new purchase is an absolute twin, if its an auto, or maybe your car is that actual W30 as rare cars seem to move around quite a bit these days! Sadly, Dale, RIP, passed on several years ago. I miss him greatly as he was one of my best friends!
----By the way, if you look closely, Dave's beauty is a bucket seat car. What I cant tell is weather its an auto or extra pedal car and weather it has a console. That would help narrow things down a bit. |
I have only been to Dave's one time to see the Desert Rat when it was there but ... Dave has some of the meanest, cleanest cars i have ever seen so I am sure this 442 is just as top notch as his other cars.

Craig,
Stop by again because I think you were at my old building. I bought a new place and it is always changing. Thanks for the kind words. Dave |
Hey Bill,
First I'm sorry you lost your friend. It seems like it is happening all to often. The car is a 4 speed and I hope Bruce can post a few more pics to answer a few questions about the car. Dave |

I would love to come down to your place again. My wife and I came down to see Dana's blue yenko when he had it there. Are you still in the same area where you were or is the new place at a different location? .. I would like to get some better photos of both L78's as well as the Z and the Berger. The hospitality that you extended to us was pretty amazing. Good luck brother that Olds is a beauty
