Recommendation for brake components restoration
Who are you gurus using for restoring master cylinders, prop valve, dist block, etc.? Also, do they re-plate the lid? Thanks
|
I used Apple hydraulics in New York but they don't do the plating
|
I used Karps in California...{Jeff Watts} does a great job and will powdercoat the master
cylinder if so desired. http://www.karpspb.com/ If you need you top replated then I used Brake Boosters by {Steve Gregori} in California... http://www.brakeboosters.com/index.htm Dave 67 Nova Boy |

Just used White Post. Actually Apple Hydraulics is in my town, but felt more comfortable after speaking with White Post. Turnaround was quick and results outstanding. BTW returned in 1 week from when they receives calipers and master. Oh the price was very reasonable.

White Post is great... I endorse their work

OK - White Post it is! Thanks again

Just talked to the White Post rep at Carlisle, MC's are done for $175.00 and wheel cyls for $100 each, only includes the sleeveing.
Bergy, what other steps are you considering? MC's are painted black or left natural, a good bath in evapo rust brings them back to a natural grey and then you can coat with dry graphite which will preserve the natural gray look, other parts like calipers can be done with electrolysis and preserved with dry graphite as well. MC cover should be gold cad. No rattle can stuff! |
Wheel cylinders are easy to do if just a hone is needed. Local auto parts has kits and you save a bunch!
How does saving 90 bucks sound? |
