Unrestored '71 Hemi Challenger

I've never been much of a Mopar guy, but this would convert me.

That is a sinister looking ride. Love it!

I was wondering the same thing. Originally bought/still owned by a Detroit police officer is the story I remember seeing (?)

combinefixer 01-24-2018 05:32 PM

I was wrong. The MCACN Black Chally was a 70.

OK, this is the one I was thinking of, on the other side of the Cuda.

Yep, IIRC it wasn't even remotely close to that BIN price.

This is a pretty well-known car in Mopar circles. It lives its life as an auction queen in Arizona these days, it's so striking that it makes great auction bait for photographs in programs and such. Sotheby's, Mecum, Barrett-Jackson and others have her go across their blocks regularly.

A woman named Susan Willey bought it in 1979 and raced & maintained the car herself for several years. She attended several Mopar Nationals with it where it was photographed over the years by various attendees.
