Barrett-Jackson Wednesday Scottsdale 1 18 2018

I was able to get to the best "car guy" car auction in Scottsdale for the sheer volume of cars that are available to take a look at. They had over 1700 consignors this year and Wednesday is the turn 'em and burn 'em day-where the most cars are sold in one day, typically.

First up in the new 2018 GT500 Mustang and then secondly the Ford GT. Both are beautiful cars...

In this group are some more of the Salon collection. First is the 1937 Rolls Roye Phantom III Freestone & Webb Sedanca De Ville....followed by a 1963 Maserati 3500 GT Vignale Spyder, then an exquisite 1930 Cord L29 Sport Phaeton and finally the 1963 Shelby 289 Cobra Dragonsnake CSX2093 :headbang:

More from the Salon area...just amazing stuff here!

First is a 1968 Shelby GT500KR convertible, Then a 2017 Yenko Camaro and a row of Corvettes behind, a 2006 Ford GT Heritage Edition, then a 1962 bubbletop custom and finally a McLaren:shocked:

These are from the staging lanes...were as the week goes on, it's harder to get any clear shots as it's so full of people :)

So in the staging area a clean 1969 SS396 Camaro, a 1956 Bel Air custom getting ready to go up on the block, then a 1969 Firebird 400...which was really clean. I met up with Quickbowtie Andy Distad at this point. It's always good to see Andy!

This Veyron is done up to represent the American Heart Association, something near and dear to Carolyn Jackson (Craig's wife)...Looks cool!

The 1966 red Corvette convertible was being sold by Jamie Jarvis' friend, Rob Hester. They were happy with the sale...

Finally there is a 1955 Bel Air convertible...which was nice!

To start off this group, a nice Boss 302 (smelled great with the race gas when it was driving around the previous Saturday :) ) Then some from the pre-staging area...

A nice silver 1966 Nova SS, followed by a 1953 Pontiac Sky Chief Woody Wagon custom, a 1956 Buick Century convertible, then a 1957 Chevrolet 150, then a 1961 Chevrolet Impala custom, and finally a 1966 Oldsmobile 442 convertible :burnout:

Back into tent 9 (one of the big tents up top) and there's a 1940 Willys pick up, then 3 from the Hendricks collection including a 1969 COPO recreation, a 1964 Corvette Fuelie 327/360 convertible, and a 1954 Corvette convertible.

Following that is a Mike Kaiser 1969 Camaro RS/SS convertible and a GTO Judge convertible in a vendors booth.

This is Jamie Jarvis' (Livettes on this site) labor of love. It's in the Salon area as well. There are so many cool custom (yet subtle) touches on this Corvette. The show sign only touches on a few of them. It has to be seen in person to really be appreciated...and yes it's twin turbos :burnout:

More from the Salon area...a 1967 427/435 Corvette, then an LS6 Convertible followed by a 1937 Cord 812 Phaeton Bustleback...and finally the 1965 Corvette cutaway display that was found in South Africa of all places!

Still in the Salon area...This beautiful 1953 Corvette 235/150 horsepower blue flame six.

Then we have a 2017 Ford GT generously donated by businessman Ron Pratte to the Evernham Family-Racing for a Reason Foundation, this is the first current-generation Ford GT donated for charity since the car was introduced. One of the few 2017 model year Ford GTs built to date with a low serial number of #0023, this extremely rare Liquid-Blue supercar was delivered earlier in the year to Mr. Pratte. The Evernham Family-Racing for a Reason Foundation will sell the supercar during the auction to benefit the Autism Society of North Carolina's IGNITE program, which offers activities, skills training and educational workshops that address the social, financial, educational and employment needs of young adults with high-functioning autism or Asperger's Syndrome. **100% OF HAMMER PRICE TO BENEFIT THE AUTISM SOCIETY OF NORTH CAROLINA'S IGNITE PROGRAM :)

Following the GT, there is a 1963 Shelby Cobra CSX2177 and a 1966 Shelby Cobra CSX3239!

Lastly a cool front shot of the 1951 Talbot-Lago T-26 Grand Sport Saoutchik coupe!

In honor of Scott Tedro...I took pics of red, white and blue Trans Ams....but these aren't all SD455's ;)

The next few pics are from the Dennis Collins collection (from what I was told) and will be sold one after another on Sunday

After that we have a 1956 Chevy 150 drag car, then some of the cars brought by Quickbowtie Andy.

After that, the Sonny and Cher Mustangs, then finally a 1967 Cadillac Funeral Coach Miller-Meteor known as “Kargoyle” which was built by Barris Kustom for the 1980s movie “Gargoyles” Since then it has been featured in other motion pictures and television shows including “Bitch Slap,” "Hearse Life", “Monster House,” “Monster Garage,” “Girls Next Door” and “Tim Timebomb’s Rock’n Roll Theater” in an episode entitled “Dante.” It was also used as the PR hearse for Mötley Crüe’s final concert, “All Bad Things Must Come to an End.”

----Bill,,, Yes it was a GM done cut-away, probably done at the tech center. Was shown around at major new car shows and then somehow ended up in South Africa. It was brought back to the US several years ago......Bill S
