It's a nice truck but I think that falls under the definition of Stupid Money.

I looked at the pics of that Chevy pickup and it looks like the rear wheels aren't remotely in the centerline of the rear wheelwells. Yikes.

Mr70 01-19-2018 03:49 PM

Have to laugh @ some of their auctioneers fast talking comments in between the bidding:
"Think long,think wrong"
"Have another sip"
"50K to you touch of Grey"
"We have a stalker"
"Next time buy a clue"
"Well aren't you a Consignors Nightmare"

The better cars and trucks (and a few others) seem to be bringing pretty good money. I was there Wednesday and the crowd was nuts.

Mr. Chevy 01-19-2018 11:33 PM

I like watching the live stream on the internet. You don't have to listen to that annoying Chris Jacobs..... I'm sick of hearing his voice and stupid comments on Velocity..

Rich

Mr70 01-19-2018 11:36 PM

Me too.
The 8AM memorabilia auctions too.

Enjoy listening to Dave Kindig on the block.Interesting hearing a builder's perspective on certain cars and build techniques.

southernfriedcj 01-20-2018 11:28 PM

The old "You couldn't build it for that." does not apply to this truck.

47Hammer 01-20-2018 11:38 PM

I think we had some Bitcoin investors who made bank last year going on a spending spree.

Mr70 01-21-2018 01:28 AM

I was thinking the same.

Xplantdad 01-21-2018 02:53 AM

Some guy bought a Husky Oil sign for $130K....WOW!

Mr70 01-22-2018 02:09 PM

That's exactly why Rory Brinkman,i.e.,B-J own all the memorabilia they sell there.
They don't allow any consignors, well maybe 1 or 2 are allowed, but they are special rich repeat customers.

I'd like you to show proof of that statement.

Mr70 01-22-2018 02:31 PM

Call Rory,it's no secret.

Mr. Chevy 01-22-2018 11:27 PM

I almost fell out of my chair laughing yesterday when Chris Jacobs was debuting the 69 Nova Yenko clone that was white in color before it went across the block. He was describing the car in his "hip hop lingo" and mentioned the car had a 427 motor and Muncie 4 speed. He then looked into the interior of the car and saw that it had a Hurst shifter. So then he says the car has a "Muncie Hurst Shifter". Well gee whiz Chris which is it???

DAAAAAA

LOL

Rich

Rich,

I love you man.....but what's your beef with Chris Jacobs....he is a great guy!
I have gotten to know Chris over the years.
Chris is always willing to sign autographs, always smiling and always willing to answer questions. Chris is an all around great ambassador to Velocity and to the Car World.

Doing his job is not easy all....especially live....there are a lot of mistakes made by all.
Chris had to do double duty this year, as Christy Lee was out sick for two days.
Unless you have worn Chris's shoes.....and unless you know the man personally....I say, If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing.
Feel free to PM me or call me....I will be happy to listen to you vent, but don't take it out on Chris....the man is just doing his job.

Dan

Mr. Chevy 01-23-2018 12:50 AM

Sorry Dan, I didn't mean to offend or upset you..

The man just gets on my nerves in the way he conveys himself on TV.

I'm by NO means any expert and would not want his job...

That's all I'm saying... I'll stop now...

I love you too man, fraternally of course LOL!!

Rich

Postsedan 01-23-2018 01:04 AM

Rich,

If you met Chris is person.....you would have a totally different opinion of the man.....he is really good at what he does and busts his ass.

All good Rich :) .....if you happen to attend any future BJ events let me know and I will come meet you and have a few cold ones with you :) .....and I will personally introduce you to Chris.
We need to change your view point and opinion :)

All good Rich :)

Dan

Xplantdad 01-23-2018 07:43 PM

Chris is a very friendly guy for sure!
