Micro Wing Weights
2 Attachment(s)
I'm mounting my Red Line Tires tomorrow on the DF rims for my 67 Z. I cleaned a hand full of my weights and wanted to know, which are the correct weights? The one with the 1.5 on each side or the one with B and the 1.5....Thanxs Dave

The B stands for "Bada" which is the wheel weight manufacture (model name or style name being "Micro").
As far as I know from the NCRS judging guidelines either type or a mixture of both are widely acceptable for Corvettes circa 1960's - 1970's. I have tons of Micro weights and like you have a mixture of both types. Best, Dave |

Dave,
Thanxs for the information. I had my wheels mounted this morning and did not use any with letters. Seems that only a few weights had letters and that's possibly how they identified the weights because I have the following two weights with a letter. 1. 1.5 had a "B" 2. 2.25 had a "C" Dave |
Are all the micro wheel weights winged for a 1969 Camaro? I have seen ones with wings and ones without. Not sure what is correct.

Weights
The wheels look really nice . But the weights go on the inside only. The trim rings might interfere with the weights.
|
Weights
Also they are used in half ounce increments.
|
No, I was fortunate enough that weights don't interfere with the outer four Clips on the trim ring. Putting weights on either side is the best way to balance and I don't believe that the factory only did the backs.
|
Inside and outside. I have seen both. The bat wings are correct.
|
The original mounting process was used with a “static” balance technique. I agree with the above. Weights on the inside of the rim only for an OEM application. For a truer balance, weights on inside and outside.
