Rolled exhaust tips
 

I have been approached by a gent who has a connection to reproduce the rolled tip exhausts for 69 - 70 Chevelle. The pricing will be determined by the number of orders. I said I would pose the offer here. I will get the details of construction ahead of commitment. If interested, please pm me or respond to this thread.

But 1970 Chevelle,Elco or MonteC. weren't equipped w/rolled exhaust tips.

True statement. Not technically correct for 1970, but functionally the same. Buyer's choice.

I know it has been discussed before but do we know the dates these were used before they switched to the non rolled tips in late 69? I may need a set.

The "Rolled-Tip" were used on early production Chevelles up to March-April of 69', from what I read. As supplies dried up at different assembly plants, they began using the new improved design like the 70 all had.

The design was changed because the "rolls" retained moisture and they'd rust. So depending on your 69's build date, rolled tips may NOT be correct and definitely not correct for 70. But if you like them why not buy them anyways.

We have submitted an original tip for duplication and pricing. I'll let you know what that is when I get the reply.

Update:

We have an original tip in with the builder for tooling and specs. We should have an estimated cost near the end of December. He will want prepayment for orders, which we will agree to as long as production timelines are agreed to.

As of now, we will hope that individuals can deal directly with the builder of the tips.

Unfortunately I do not have any updates. I left a message for my contact a couple of days ago and have not heard back. I will post something as soon as I get information.
