Because I am a tight a** , and won't buy the repro garbage, I am looking Looking for a ignition key cylinder, with key, that works with the GM dash mount switch and looks like the one without the key. Thanks, sYc:youguysrock:

If you have an older key shop in town, some of them would carry the Briggs & Statton brand which should be what you're looking for. Hopefully still made in the states...Joe

Appreciate your willingness to help Joe. Hell, we don't even have a Walmart where I live, much less, a locksmith. How would someone cut a key without the old one? For all that effort I could just buy a new cylinder and key, don't you think?

What's the exact application. I'm in the parts business. Been doing it for 42 years....Joe

I'll look tomorrow to see what I have left for old NOS locks here Bentley. I am a master locksmith by trade and bought a ton of old NOS stock from GM and Briggs back in the 80's and 90's and still have a couple cases in storage here.

62 Catalina , Joe. Previous owner is still looking for the keys. I think I have a cylinder that will work for the trunk, all my extra ignition cylinders are for column keys or in dash pick ups which I found to not work. At the least, give me a part # and a source. Got a catalog coming from AMEs. Just hoping someone had one collecting dust in the back of a drawer.

I would be grateful although shipping may exceed what one here in the states would cost. Thank you just the same.

I just went out and emptied 2 cartons of locks out onto the floor. I have enough ignitions, door locks, trunk cylinders and glove box cores to do about 40-50 sets of locks for 69 and 70 cars but nothing left for in dash ignition cores unless I put them somewhere else? I'll check with another buddy of mine to see what he has for old stock and let you know if he has any ignition cores.

Thanks. I am in the same boat. Can't believe I jiggled an old key from something else around and got it to turn to the left and was able to get it removed with a paper clip. Lucky! Did I already ask you

Convex. But that end is unimportant. The back end in 1st pic is what it should look like.
