Interesting 1969 SS350 Camaro F/S
|
Now that's as rare as hen's teeth... what a Great looking car!!! Can you imagine what it took to go with this Color combo?? Unless it was a mistake?? I've seen a 69 COPO Camaro with the yellow houndstooth interior and it was awesome as well.
|
Pity the ad has no picture of the trim tag....
|
It's also a pity that nobody makes the correct yellow Madrid vinyl or the correct black/yellow cloth. Everything on the market is incorrect. Makes it almost impossible to restore a yellow interior car correct...Joe

Add on rear spoiler ? It's mounted incorrectly as is the crooked relocated Camaro emblem.
What's incorrect with the yellow and black hounds tooth pattern ? I'm aware all the yellow vinyl is re-dyed prior to assembly by the manufacturer(s) I've only seen 1 original yellow hounds tooth interior along with its yellow deluxe door panels. Was factory original yellow vinyl molded as yellow or also re-dyed ? |
Is it just me or is the right side of the dash missing the wood grain trim that is part of the deluxe interior?

Car was at one time blue exterior and black interior .. here is the tag, car is correct now.
BTW , Not my car.... |
I see the woodgrain dash on the right side. Look closer.
|
Interesting, when it sold before (blue street machine), there was no POP and was NOM.
Survivor miles??? I know of another, some colors, also SS350. So it's not 1 of 1. |

Well, the '$49,500 firm' on the Hemmings ad contrasts with the 'Buy it Now $39,900' on ebay:

My yellow/yellow z has original yellow houndstooth seats (which do look much better than the repop) and its original door panels. |
The new interiors are almost a day glow yellow. The original was more like the Daytona yellow outside. The houndstooth today is wrong & yellow. The original before fading was gold. I have a some NOS cloth(not enough to do anything with). I have a picture at work I can post showing the difference on the covers. I'll post some pictures later...Joe

Comparison of interiors. 1st picture, original LH, repro RH. 2nd picture NOS cloth against original. 3rd picture NOS cloth against repro....Joe
|
I notice the repro cover has 8 buttons as opposed to 2 on the original.
Is that a repro mistake,or did the original lose 6 buttons? Also the repro cloth weave design isn't quite accurate,as well as it's color. |
Well. Let's see 2 & 4 is 6. :) I'm missing 6 button from the original cover but I have some more around the house. Anytime I see yellow seat stuff, I usually buy it & put it away. I hope to use the back covers in my car if I can darken up the yellow a little...Joe
|
So the NOS cloth material is more yellow than either the original or the repro? Interesting.
|
I tried to pull back where it was stitched together on the original cover to get a picture but I needed about at least one more hand to take the picture. I'll try this weekend.
The original is faded as most are...Joe |
WOW the houndstooth pattern is not the same on the repro... the original and NOS fabric are the same pattern, color is off yes, however the pattern is exact.

I pulled everything out into the sun for better pictures. With cloth & vinyl material there are always lot number so the NOS cloth is close to the original on this seat but the other seat I have is more yellow. Go figure.....Joe
|
The original yellow vinyl appears to be a lighter color almost like lemonwood yellow or the mid 80's IROC yellow... just a little lighter than Daytona Yellow.
That original seat fabric is AWESOME! |
