1970 Olds W-30, W-27 Alum rear, 4-spd, #1 car
10 Attachment(s)
SOLD - thanks everyone, it's going to a very good home!!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/282608393213...84.m1555.l2649 Being sold by the 2nd owner who had Matt Woods (Mission 442 in NH) do a complete nut and bolt rotisserie resto on the car about 120 miles ago (4 years)... RARE W-27 Aluminum rear car, 4-Speed, Matador Red with Parchment Interior with tilt wheel. The car was born with a Black Interior and Black Vinyl top - the original owner removed the top before he took delivery from the dealer (documented) - he hated it with the white stripes. 100% numbers matching, all the 4-spd unique parts are there, all the W-30 specific parts are there, etc. What was replaced was sourced from the late, great George Berejik's vast NOS Olds parts collection - he and the owner were good friends. The car has the broadcast card (no W27 on the card, but the W30 is clear and very legible) and pictures of it when it was new given to him by the original owner (now deceased). |
Pinnacle W-Machine :-)

That would've been SO COOL if that was the case, unfortunately the car was sold out of Ohio originally - I'll try to post a copy of the window sticker.

"The car has the broadcast card and pictures of it when it was new"
Where are the $$$$ shots? ;) |
Hi Stefano - I hear ya!
I was instructed by the seller NOT to put those online, out of respect to the previous owner's family. They are your typical Polaroids showing the original owner and the car. Regarding the punch card > I can email that to those who are seriously interested in the car. It's a very blurry shot of it inside a protective sleeve but you can see the W30 and the VIN plain as day. Thanks - I hope everybody understands! |

Very cool machine
|
Any offers? Dropped price down to $108k for this insane car... thanks everyone!
|
Shocked that this W-Machine is still available. Ones like this rarely become available.
|
Our 69 black (w/gold stripes) and whites guts probably wasn't "rare" -- but it appears it fell off the face of the earth in 1970. We traded it for a 70 1/2 Z-28 at Doc Stewart Chev in Clovis NM. Haven't been able to track it down since then. TAZ

Starting to get some good interest in the car now, must finally be priced closed to right. BUMP!

Labor Day Bump!

1970 w30
Is that a reproduction window sticker ? Looks brand new....
It would be helpful to see the critical stampings on the car.. block, carb, dist, broadcast card, etc |

I'm looking forward to seeing that beauty when it arrives in Washington State. The buyer speaks highly of dealing with you and the previous owner. He was starting to look for a 70 Chevelle when I suggested this as a really compelling alternative. He agreed and will be an excellent caretaker for the car.

Thanks for the support and the kind words Tom!

The W30 arrived safe and intact here in Washington this past weekend, after a bit too much shipping drama (through a mixup in contact info, the car ended up with a less than stellar shipping outfit). The car is everything Dave and the owner said it was-a true #1 condition car. The new owner is very pleased with it, and says it stands up to the restoration quality of any other car in the 60+ collection, which is truly saying something. Time to spread some W-Machine mojo through the Pacific Northwest:)

Great new! I Love hearing positive story's in our hobby.

There's nothing like a WIN/WIN when doing business in the collector car space. Nothing can destroy a reputation faster than someone misrepresenting an expensive car - words spreads like a Trump Tweet in this world! Hahahaha!
I'm so glad that the new owner is happy with his new car! |

Cool news and congrats to the lucky buyer! Love to see more of that '61 on the other side of the '65 Goat in the pic, factory W-power? :beers: ~ Pete . |
Factory SS 348/350hp. Same car I showed in this thread:

Awesome car and thanks for the follow up! Personal opinion but few cars are prettier than a '61 Bubbletop, W-power and Honduras Maroon are like extra icing on the cake! :beers: ~ Pete . |
