Sounds like a NICE sample indeed. My dad had a black 86 and a Silver 87. Great looking cars, but could not get out of their own way :(

Not all of em. I had a 20k mile 86 and doing these mods.. a chip, L69 dual snorkle air cleaner, no cat, low restriction mufflers, a posi center section, roller rockers and a shift kit , it ran 14.5's all day

I was talking off the showroom floor, plenty were modded of course :)

A buddy had a blue 1983 with just a chip and exhaust. Love those blue 83 cars

I LOVE THIS CAR! Reminds me of my 20k mile 85 I had, the PO ripped the original drive train out of it at 3,500 miles (sold with the car) - these cars can take mods GREAT!

Question is this car not selling because its a Canadian car ? I really like it but know nothing about buying a car from there let alone it having the Canadian speed o and all.. Thanks !!

The ease of import from Canada to the US has a lot to do with where the car was manufactured. Also, the guys at TFX in Toronto handle brokerage logistics for cars in Canada coming into the US on a regular basis.

Just went through the "import a Canadian car to the US" routine this morning with TFX. You need an EPA compliance sticker on the car or a letter from the manufacturer stating that it complies with US emissions regulations. Also need a letter of compliance from the Manufacturer that it meets FMVSS if the sticker on the car states CMVSS compliance (Canada's version). It can be allowed entry into the US with an odometer in kms, but in it has to be switched out for an odometer in miles. I honestly didn't believe this until I was informed of this regulation by US Customs. I will say that I know some people who have not done this and were still able to register the car. Other than that, it is an easy process. My particular car was German originally and it also required duty of 2.85% to bring it into the US. I think North American cars are exempt from this.

Good news...I should have waited 4 more years so mine would be 25! The compliance issues have nothing to do with where the car is built, just which market it was built to comply with. However, as you stated, the 25 year rule makes everything good! I guess I am getting really old...I was thinking that a 1986 was a fairly modern car! Sorry about that...

I just got off the telephone with my broker (Pacific Customs Brokers) in Blaine, Washington to see if anything has changed. Nothing has. They verified what I stated above is correct. The above is correct. I purchased a '70 TA from Kamloops several years ago. I towed the car through the Sumash border crossing. Saved me the five hundred dollars broker fee.
