Should be a build sheet on that gas tank.

77Z28 03-07-2017 01:02 PM

If this is an original paint 70Z with tall spoiler then this should be a COPO car, correct?

Todd

olredalert 03-07-2017 01:14 PM

----Probably not a big deal but am I correct that the spoiler was added? Somehow the pictures make the spoiler appear to be located too far back. Nice solid ride to start with though!......Bill S

Is it odd that an NB2 equipped (CA emissions) car would be sold new in OK? I know both Norwood and Van Nuys produced the 70Z with the NB2 option, but only for the CA market. is this a case of dealer-transfer or just an od anomaly?

CamarosRus 03-07-2017 07:02 PM

Has it been stated anywhere that the engine was born with the car and that the VIN # is stamped on deck of block ???
(EBAY ad show "L" in partial VIN, which is ALL I can SEE so far)

Has anybody SEEN the Trim Tag, VIN Tag, L.A. Build sheet ???
(L.A. Z28 W/O build sheet and born with eng (block deck VIN) = NO WAY to verify

I've never read/seen a L.A. mfg 1970 Z-28 sold NEW by Dealer (not in state of Calif) that came with NA-9 (Calif Emissions)

Nice car but fact remains that R/S & 4spd is more desireable ($$$) than straight bumper & T-400.

I've written the EBAY seller with above questions....................

Ive now spoken with uncooperative seller on the phone. He was offended that I dont believe
anything/everything is original. He expects bidders to bid based on his EBAY history....

Not MY intent to call anyone a liar. As many others on this very knowledgeable website, we
like to SEE/READ proof/evidence before we buy.......

seventieshow 03-07-2017 08:52 PM

Also has no rear bumper trim pieces (bumperettes). He should at least put a picture of the body tag and block and head casting numbers.

CamarosRus 03-07-2017 10:07 PM

seventiesshow......great point about missing rear bumper guards.......................

pictures show 6500Red/8000 Tach, Floor Mounted Gas Pedal, Control Arm Bump Stop Extensions
but these other issues/points do raise interesting questions.

Seller has arrogant attitude about not showing eng vin, eng assy date, trans vin, rear end code/date
Never has looked for or found all important L.A build sheet (L.A. 70 Z's had not stamped code on TRIM TAG)

Will be interesting to determine if 70Z mfg in LA, sold new in OK came with NA9 option (WHY ?????)

L16pilot 03-07-2017 11:09 PM

Urgh....brain fart...I meant NA9...not sure where I came up with the NB2. You are correct though Chuck...not nearly enough detail to determine how much of the car is born-with/original.

CamarosRus 03-08-2017 01:33 AM

Steve, John Haislips VERY NICE Concours LEGENDS Show car 70 R/S 4speed just sold at auction for $48K..........................

This car may go for $20K or higher...........Add new paint and everything else many owners would want to do
you could easily be in over $50K.

I'm just saying this Camaro has questions with not enough answers from uncooperative seller

regards to all

I find it odd that this owner would not post the block numbers and VIN to prove its authentic since it's a Van Nuys car. It would eliminate some skepticism. The car looks pretty accurate except for lack of rear bumperettes and no holes in the rear spoiler for the emblem. The rear stripes are accurate for an LA car which most people don't get right if this was a repaint.

He had it on craigslist in Phoenix for 36500 for a couple weeks.

Appears from his feedback that he flips a lot of cars. Not a good sign when combined with that attitude.

njsteve 03-08-2017 04:56 PM

Didn't he also have that red 69 camaro with a bare ZL1 block in the trunk for sale? Called it the famous "Mexican ZL1"?

NorCam 03-08-2017 06:46 PM

I thought it was also but it's a different user ID on eBay so maybe? Both sellers are from same area of Cave Creek.

njsteve 03-08-2017 07:09 PM

Wasn't the same background scenery used in the Mexican ZL1 listing? Looks like something out of a bad Quentin Tarantino movie (or is that redundant?)

lbnaz 03-09-2017 11:59 AM

I talked to Craig yesterday he swears motor and trans have never been out of the car. He says the info is still on the pad and body work has been done to rt rear quarter that's when bumper and spoiler were probably changed. Not the same seller as the orange 69 just same area.

lbnaz 03-19-2017 07:57 PM

The car is back on Phoenix craigslist for 32,900

Jonesy 03-19-2017 08:32 PM

New ad is up on ebay with stampings. This thing is legit.
