Fezzell life-long parts collection auction
|
Re: Fezzell life-long parts collection auction
In talking to a mutual friend of Fuzzy & I it was related that 88,000 pounds of parts, engines & transmissions were sent down!
|
Re: Fezzell life-long parts collection auction
Might be over million dollars there. Love the zll aluminum front end parts
|
Re: Fezzell life-long parts collection auction
Damn! Between the Hemi, 413, 409 and Z11 parts there (not to mention many other HP parts), we are talking some major coin!
|
Re: Fezzell life-long parts collection auction
Anyone know why he is selling? Hope it is not a health issue.

Re: Fezzell life-long parts collection auction

have heard that health is a factor. |
Re: Fezzell life-long parts collection auction
People are nuts... Just scanning through some of the bids. Some of the parts are real nice, but $1,400 for a 2 bolt 454? Cast 361959. Sight unseen? Someone must know something I don't about that one...

Re: Fezzell life-long parts collection auction
I heard his health is fine. His kids aren't into it and he doesn't want it to become a burden on them as he gets older.
|
Re: Fezzell life-long parts collection auction
The cheaper solution would be to adopt some of us kids who would be "into it."

Re: Fezzell life-long parts collection auction
If someone wins the bid on a part, do they have to pick it up in person at Kissimmee or are they offering shipping of the parts???
|
Re: Fezzell life-long parts collection auction
Do you have to be a registered bidder to see the current bids?
Thanks, Marty |

Re: Fezzell life-long parts collection auction
You have to Register as a Bidder & put a Credit Card or banking # in. I did earlier & bid on something I really want & I guess I didn't think about the Shipping...Damn ..
|
Re: Fezzell life-long parts collection auction
Thanks for the info. I'm sure there is a shipping firm there that will help.

Re: Fezzell life-long parts collection auction
I clicked on the link in the first post but never scrolled past the first couple of items. I see the bids now.
Thanks again, Marty |
Re: Fezzell life-long parts collection auction
Just received an e-mail & they use Craters & Freighters shipping.

Re: Fezzell life-long parts collection auction

Bill, The rear bumpers and brackets are probably the rarest. Some aluminum front pieces were sold over the counter but probably not the rear stuff. Back then the trend was to add weight to the rear, not reduce it. At one time, I had the rear stuff. Verne |

Thanks, Marty </div></div> Marty; you can sign up for the Mecum Infonet for free through their website. It also allows real-time coverage of all of the auctions and after sale prices. Well worth doing if you want to stay in the loop and all you need to submit is your name and e-mail address. Use this link; https://www.mecum.com/infonet/sign-up/ Bashton |

I hope you are correct as that is not what I was told. Normally car guys who have spent of most of their adult lives obtaining rare parts and cars don't just give it up but I really hope that is correct. |
Re: Fezzell life-long parts collection auction
Chick, I heard the same thing you did. While I think some of the above is correct, I don't think that is the sole reason for his liquidating.

I agree, it is well worth it and really makes the Mecum experience that much better. And, it is very easy to do. I don't get NBCSN so it is the only way to follow the auctions. Thanks, Marty |
Re: Fezzell life-long parts collection auction
The 427 435 ja. Code 427 block has a very odd stamping ...never seen those fonts before on a corvette
|
Re: Fezzell life-long parts collection auction
X-2 Chuck. Looks like a 1965 Z-16 block stamping.

Re: Fezzell life-long parts collection auction
"California delivered 435!" Bill, did you look at the stamping?
|
Re: Fezzell life-long parts collection auction
----Honestly,,,No! I just remembered the code letters as I had one a while back.....Bill S

Re: Fezzell life-long parts collection auction
Anyone from here going to the auction? I could use the casting number and date from the 409 engines/blocks to be auctioned off.
|
Re: Fezzell life-long parts collection auction
hi i am going mid week will look
|
Re: Fezzell life-long parts collection auction
Thanks. I record the data from them but I couldn't tell what years some of them were from because the casting number (and date) was not given.
Also, on this one specifically, can you see if there is a letter stamped in front of the partial vin? Looks like it could be a J or C. |
