Those style air cleaners are cool to look at but have their issues. If there is a backfire in the carb, fuel can be blown up into that style air cleaner. I have seen that fuel ignite and burn even though the engine is running. The next indication is the paint on the hood is blistering and smoke from the edges of the hood. My point is -- BEWARE! USED ONES ROUTINELY BRING $150 ON EBAY..EBAY HAS BEEN THE BENCH MARK FOR YEARS...

I think in their day it was the shit. Everybody used them because Jenkins and Rosen too. I've got a REAL nice one and will use it on Camaro for static displays.

I think they are junk! Cheapest things ever made.

Mr Gasket made similar fly eye air cleaners as well. The Mr Gasket air cleaners I believe had a slightly deeper base and used a thicker foam filter element.
