Here's my 69, rears are 15x7 with h70 McCrearys.fronts are 15x6, but they are just a pair of rollers with g78's. Fronts are definitely too big. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...4431-image.jpg

Re: CRAGAR SS WHEELS

what is the best wheel size &back spacing & tire size to fill up the rear wheel well with out folding up the wheel well lip ?

Salvatore 12-17-2016 02:04 PM

Re: CRAGAR SS WHEELS

15X7 on L60's and 15X4 with 6.70 or maybe even 7.10's on a chevelle for the front. Backspacing on rear is usually 3.75 or 4.00 back spacing.
Ask Mr. 4 speed himself.............Kurt Burdick.

15X6 in rear with the L60's and 15X4 in the front with 6.40x15. No turning issues. had to go to 6's in the rear because the 7's with the L-60's rubbed the right side exhaust pipe.

I like Rich's set up. He and Joe Barr have the right stance with the right combo.

Re: CRAGAR SS WHEELS

Remember that the Cragar SS that are currently being sold have a different type or style of spoke than the earlier vintage we all love. The newer ones are more of a "Square" while the older are more "Round". Many people won't/don't know the difference; car guys will.

Re: CRAGAR SS WHEELS

The round spokes flash/sparkle the light during darkness ... the square ones not as much ... TAZ

Re: CRAGAR SS WHEELS

My plans are L60 on the rear, the lips were rolled up years ago and 6.40 15 on 15x4 on the front. I'll raise the rear til it doesn't rub and then get my front end where I want it. I've put engine and trans in since that picture, but it's still on the upper control arm bump stops. Here she was around '74 https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...4505-image.jpg

Re: CRAGAR SS WHEELS

I think we have 15x8's in the rear with 245 60's, and 15x6's in the front - don't know tire size. This is street driving trim, but for race & show trim we plan to have Rich's setup from above...

Finally got a pair of Cragars for my Camaro. I think the rears are a newer style, but the deal was too good to pass up.

Looks good. Fits the overall theme of the car much better than polished TTs. I'd be tempted to flip the white letters to the inside, but that's just my weird personal preference with cragar's - I just think they always look better with blackwalls.

Agreed on the WL, but that's prob down the road when I figure out whether I want to go the bias ply route. Thanks
