I think the car and story is interesting

I saw/heard Sprngsteen 30 years ago and liked
his OLD music alot.

Please explain to me why this car should be worth
$400-$500 K........What would be the obsession??
Or is it just beyond words, beyond comprehension ?

Some folks just crave celebrity owned vehicles. Personally, I wouldn't pay any extra for a celebrity owned car. It would be different if the car itself had some historical significance.

I remember Jackie O's BMW selling for more than 10x normal market value about 15 years ago. I had a similar car, except mine was a 73 4 speed with the little bumbers; hers a 74 auto with the giant federal bumpers. I believe it has since been repainted from the original fjord blue to a turqouise color. I am sure it comes up on the market from time to time. Just cuz a celebrity owned one of these cars won't make it any faster, more fun to drive or cheaper to maintain. Just costs more.

I'd pay. But I'm a huge Springsteen fan so I am biased. Me and the Boss Bel Air in 2010 at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (oh and number 2 and number 4 from this eBay seller's list in his description are complete

I think it's because alone, they're both a great piece of Americana by themselves.Together they align & can bring others to pay that kind of money.
This particular type of car, plus Bruce owning it = transcends the norm.
If Bruce owned a yellow Triumph TR7 back then instead and it had a pencil in the glovebox with his teeth marks on it,it wouldn't get 1/5th this price.
..are you listening Jon Voight.

Yes, that's the car he bought to gain LESS attention than the 57 Chevy Convertible in the auction. The auction car is probably worth pretty close to the estimated $850K. Why wouldn't it be? It has a much greater appeal to a wider audience than some obscure optioned muscle car that has sold for more.

Whatever the 57 sells for, the 60 Corvette will double when the time comes. JMHO.

I saw the Joplin car sell on Chasing Classic Cars.I guess you can say any car is worth what someone is willing to pay!

Re: Bruce Springsteen' s 57 convertible

It's obsession with an artist or trying to foretell an uptick in the cars value. The 57 value would obviously increase if Bruce passed away. Don't know what would buy the car?
