I wonder if one of you guys who have Newspapers.com access (I think Peteleathersac did at one point) could search the plate to see if any old Clippinger ads came up. I believe the old LA Times ads required you to list the plate number when selling a car.

It is a Special Paint Code "Competition Orange" car that has had one repaint in its original color since new.

Z-Z is special paint for the first half of '68 and then the &quot;Z&quot; paint code is used for British Green when that is introduced as an available color mid-year.

My buddy has a 68 with a -- paint code and the car has some of that competition / Cal trans orange still on it

Yep, I think there is also a '67 Z with the special Caltrans orange color.

No-sale at just over $20k, relisted at $30k or best....

I gave it a go a few different ways but no luck running the CA plate Tony.
Not 68's but I did find the below Clippinger ad for some Special color '67 L78's.
