Really great car, and I hope it stays as it is when the new caretaker buys it.

Re: 1969 Z28 X33 D80 Lemans Blue
Love the T/A exhaust set up!
|
Re: 1969 Z28 X33 D80 Lemans Blue
I have two traffic tickets the second owner received in the early '70s for too loud of an exhaust.
|
Re: 1969 Z28 X33 D80 Lemans Blue
I was wondering how loud that side exit would be.

Had this at MCACN and drove it home 45 miles or so. Cruised on the expressway at 65-70 with no issues. Even the heat works fine.
This is all original drivetrain unrestored, with original interior and all original metal in a desirable color combination. Will trade up or down or cash works too. |
Is that black rubber plug through the blue VIN/ID decal a drill and squirt for Ziebart/Rusty Jones.? Curious
|
It was not necessary, but yes it was drilled for Zeibart rustproofing.
|
Decal is a Ziebart.
|
Cool Z, bet it runs great with those headers.......
|
I'm trying to figure out why the trunk stripes are painted that way with a D80 car?
|
Not much to figure out........they were repainted at some point in its life.
|
Says has had SOME paint work, do we know how MUCH paint work it has had?
|
Yes, I have a good idea of what was painted, just not necessarily why. For example, there is no body damage on the deck lid but the top of it was repainted while the underside remains original paint.

Good paintless dent guys can get the older cars with heavier metal straight.
-After I mentioned I had a guy go all over the Black RS/Z after we retrieved it.- Lloyd said he had wondered how the black RS/Z had gotten through it's earlier days with zero door dings. - FWIW it took two 5-6 hour days at my house to get the thicker metal coaxed back into it's correct location, however it was well worth the efforts. |
This Z28 also comes with.
Correct booster, needing restored Correct Master, needing restored Correct smog pump and some but not all parts and brackets Correct exhaust manifolds |
I keep coming back to this ad expecting to see SOLD! What am I missing?
Looks like a great car! |
