Re: 1969 Blue Camaro Z/28 Restored MacNeish inspected
Wow, what a beautifully restored Z28! I find it interesting that such a meticulously restored car the restorer chose not to put back the smog equipment. Is there a story behind that? Great car anyway, GLWS!

Wow GLWS!
I wish I had room for it! |
Re: 1969 Blue Camaro Z/28 Restored MacNeish inspected
I lowered my asking price to $69,995.00. It would be neat if the car could go to some one that would appreciate and enjoy the car.

Re: 1969 Blue Camaro Z/28 Restored MacNeish inspected
I was under the impression that you would not be able to
obtain Jerry MacNeish certificate of authenticity without the smog equipment. |
Re: 1969 Blue Camaro Z/28 Restored MacNeish inspected
No,that's not what I meant to imply at all.
I was just under the impression that he was very through as to equipment that was originally on the car & it all had to present. I noticed earlier in the posting that someone asked about its absence. I must have been misinformed about the process or misunderstood. I did not intend to discredit anyone or any documentation. My appoligies. |
Re: 1969 Blue Camaro Z/28 Restored MacNeish inspected
Thank you for your response and I have to apologize for my reaction. Jerry did mention it in his report as an item that should be corrected to help bring the car up to a higher level. To be honest I wanted to put a factory cross ram on the car with headers so it did not concern me when I bought the car.

Re: 1969 Blue Camaro Z/28 Restored MacNeish inspected
I understand.

Back in the Day Two Era, no one I can remember in our area kept the smog on their Z28s, not saying that it didn't happen.......Kool Z28! |

Who knew! |
Re: 1969 Blue Camaro Z/28 Restored MacNeish inspected
Mark,
My first car was a 73 Z/28 with no stripes or spoilers and I did the exact same thing. Then I saw a 1969 Z/28 at the March meets the next year and I had to have one. |
Re: 1969 Blue Camaro Z/28 Restored MacNeish inspected
Too funny, mine was a non D80 RS! That was tail end of high school for me. A few guys had 69Z's but you didn't see as many seconds gen Z's because they were still pretty new and big bucks- like 2500.00 V 1500.00 for a 69;) Can't believe you still have this car..

Re: 1969 Blue Camaro Z/28 Restored MacNeish inspected
Oh no I have had a bunch of 1969 camaros since the first one. I am still trying to find the perfect one for me. I keep going between original and restored and I am never 100% happy with either.

Always a tough call.. think I've been a caretaker of at least 25 Fbod's to date. Hey if you're free on the weekend of the 16-17th my 70Z that Rick restored is going sat afternoon at Mecum Anaheim.. you would dig it! |

I would say a nice 69 L78 car. Do what I did, NO frame off just a real good repaint and you can clean the frame, engine bay and floors yourself. I like original interiors if possible. That way there are no rattles or issues like with a frame off. Original wiring in good shape you are golden. Then you can drive and enjoy your car like it should be especially in Southern Cal. |
Re: 1969 Blue Camaro Z/28 Restored MacNeish inspected
Mark,
I will be there and look forward to seeing your 1970 Z/28. Everything I have heard it is one of the best and the more you look at it the better it gets. |
Re: 1969 Blue Camaro Z/28 Restored MacNeish inspected
Sam,
As usual you are right but I just have to find the right car. |
Re: 1969 Blue Camaro Z/28 Restored MacNeish inspected
It will pop up when least expected Mark. Do yourself a favor though, get a car you can enjoy and drive. A strong #2 car in my opinion is a good choice for some local shows and to be driven.

Re: 1969 Blue Camaro Z/28 Restored MacNeish inspected
Great! There's a nice LeMans X ram 69z going over a few before mine..will be interesting to see what that brings.
|
Re: 1969 Blue Camaro Z/28 Restored MacNeish inspected
There out there.....you'll find one! That's why I like my driver 69Z. I can drive it anywhere and not worry about a thing.

Re: 1969 Blue Camaro Z/28 Restored MacNeish inspected
Did this car ever sell??
|
Re: 1969 Blue Camaro Z/28 Restored MacNeish inspected
Ken,
I am sorry your question got lost with the recent postings from all the other ads and I did not see it. I still have the car put away. |
Changed the pictures of the engine.
|
Sell it, Mark. My Z told me it wants to come back home...😊
|
Jude, I think your car will be selling very soon. From what I have heard it is a nice car.
