Car transport from Michigan to Florida
Been checking around for a decent price on enclosed shipping for a 40 Ford coupe to Fl from Mi. Got a quote from Reliable and one from Passport. Passport is a couple hundred less. Any other suggestions?

Re: Car transport from Michigan to Florida
You could bid it out on uship.com
I used them a few times with no issue. |
Re: Car transport from Michigan to Florida
Tony, check out Plycar. I've used them for 5 cars in the last 3 months and every quote was cheaper than the majors with better transit time.

You also run the risk of having multiple touch points which always adds variability within the transportation move. Variability here also increases the amount of potential damage. Not a bad service for parts but just be aware of the risks with cars transport. Dan |

Re: Car transport from Michigan to Florida
Thanks all. Tom, it looks like I will be having your guy haul it. Thanks again.

Re: Car transport from Michigan to Florida
Shit. I didn't have a plan "B". I fkn knew better too. The guy that said he would haul it down was supposed to call me yesterday and set up a time to be here Sunday. I called him a few times today and left messages. He wouldn't return my calls. I just got him on the phone. He isn't going to haul it and didn't have the fkn courtesy to call me and let me know. The guy just flat-assed screwed up my plans. Dan, I 'll give that place you suggested a call. Anyone else have a suggestion for an immediate haul to Florida?

Re: Car transport from Michigan to Florida
Thanks Charley. I talked to Jim when I first started looking. He was no where near Michigan at the time. I just talked to him again. He is in Texas, heading for Georgia, then back to Texas.
I think that I'll just have Passport haul it, as I've used them numerous times before. I was wanting to support some of the little guys this time around, but that doesn't seem to be working AT ALL!! |

Tony,
Good to talk with you this morning. Sorry I can't help out but I am on my way now to Tyrone, GA to pick up a second Model T for the family I just hauled this one for from Sacramento, CA to Houston, TX. This 1915 Model T Roadster is for their 13 year old son who was thrilled to see it .... As I told you on the phone - to get someone who does direct enclosed auto transport from pick up to drop off on short notice is tough - trips have to be built with connecting loads which takes weeks in most cases. Re: Car transport from Michigan to Florida
Hey Jim, I thought that a few weeks ago I had this all worked out. I have had the car done for 2 weeks, waiting for the guy to pick it up. I gave him all the time he needed to fit his schedule. For him to jerk me around like this is absolute bullshit. He has not only messed up my plans to go to Florida for the winter, but also my brothers plans too. The list is endless the shit he caused. He knew days ago that he wasn't coming, and a simple phone call to me would have made a night and day difference. Once again, I hate most people. Love my dogs though!

Re: Car transport from Michigan to Florida
I've used these guys for a couple of older pick up's I bought. Mind you I used them for open transport, they were quick and fair ($600 from GA to WI)

Re: Car transport from Michigan to Florida
I just used this broker, VERY happy with price and door to door service, he uses a cool online "board"
my experience was a pickup in Bloomington MN to my driveway for $800 including the $100 broker's fee, probably could've gotten it for a couple hundred less, but it was picked up within 24 hours and delivered within 4 days, one transporter, not a drop and transfer kind of thing - 2011 BMW 328i Jays Auto Transport 954-709-7541, he is in Florida, works the entire nation Highly recommended Edit: mine was an open transport |
Re: Car transport from Michigan to Florida
Thanks Jim. I just spoke with him, but he is busy right now. Going to call him back in an hour.

Where are you needing it to go in Florida Tony? Where in Michigan is it? |
Re: Car transport from Michigan to Florida
I THINK that I have it handled. Ended up borrowing a 24" enclosed trailer from a friend.
