Re: Grumpy's Toy @ Keystone Raceway Park
If the owners wife's name was Vicki than its the real car, and it's actually been proven believe it or not! Badass car! I know because I follow thier shop on Facebook and the whole build to that car is on there.

'
Sounds like wishful thinking has maybe taken the wheel if the same Vicki and Dale from Dale's Autobody/Baldwin PA who were building a '68 Jenkins recreation back in '05 as this old Camaros.net thread? http://www.camaros.net/forums/archiv.../t-139965.html ~ Pete |
Re: Grumpy's Toy @ Keystone Raceway Park
proven NOT to be Jenkins '68 Camaro...trim tag shows it as a '67 body, original bolero red, 327 4pd car
Jenkins '68 was an original butternut yellow, L78 car https://www.facebook.com/116316768418273...e=3&theater |
Re: Grumpy's Toy @ Keystone Raceway Park
I looked at the car on Saturday the trim tag was taped off so no one could see. Guy claimed it was the real deal that he bought from a guy in New York that no idea what he had. Wasn't the 1968 car originally Butternut Yellow L78 painted white and the door jams etc where left butternut yellow.

Re: Grumpy's Toy @ Keystone Raceway Park
The 68 car Bill purchased through Ammon are Smith Chevrolet.
Butternut yellow L 78 car with the optional L 89 aluminum heads! |
Re: Grumpy's Toy @ Keystone Raceway Park
they originally claimed it was 'The 1st' Z28 built, it then morphed into Jenkins '68 car

Re: Grumpy's Toy @ Keystone Raceway Park
I think this couple "read the book" of how another non verified 'guess car' became the Strickler Car ......
If you wish hard enough as you're talking, you can make anything a reality in your own mind, document your interpretation and print it thousands of times people will come to believe story after story.... Fiction Outsells anything else at Barnes & Nobile. |

I had a conversation with Davicki Carcloner over a year ago now and the more he spoke, the more I was convinced it wasnt the real Toy IV. This is just one photo that he/they/it insisted was photoshopped. Apparently it shouldnt have a scoop. They insisted the '67 became the '68, though they couldnt explain away the fact that numerous photos exist of both cars appearing in the same shot. Yeah, the real deal. Its a shame he couldnt convince Jenkins, who hung up on his 5 different time. |

Re: Grumpy's Toy @ Keystone Raceway Park
Broken down, its an original 327 4spd, bolero red '67 Camaro. Thats what the carcloners has to hide.

If I were gonna fake a car I would have done more homework and faking than what was attempted..

Re: Grumpy's Toy @ Keystone Raceway Park
Just say it's a tribute/clone up front -- too many people in the know to pass it off as the real deal ... TAZ

Re: Grumpy's Toy @ Keystone Raceway Park
I believe Grumps 68 car went to Brooklyn Heavy. After that, I am not sure.
|
Re: Grumpy's Toy @ Keystone Raceway Park
Here's a video of the car, don't know if it's as purchased or while work was in progress but it's definitely in front of their bodyshop. the car is clearly a 67 and doesn't appear to be an RS

Re: Grumpy's Toy @ Keystone Raceway Park
There is a post on FB about this car. The owner claims its the real deal and the exact wording on the post is:
I'm very pleased with the way this article turned out. The executor of Grumpy's estate approved it before publication, he was given the rough draft , made a few changes and then gave it his blessing. The estate is behind the car and this article 100% so any negative comments from the "peanut gallery". I.e. Arch (Doug) Adam Ed Jerry Joe Richie aka the minions , will be forwarded to and addressed by the estate The article in question: http://www.onallcylinders.com/2016/10/07...-toy-iv-camaro/ Looking at all the pictures I do not see any butternut yellow anywhere on this car and toy 4 was originally butternut yellow. After Brooklyn Heavy owned the car the butternut yellow was still visible inside the trunk lid. There is too many inconstancies between this article and what was wrote about it and approved by the grump himself in the grumpys toys book. |
Re: Grumpy's Toy @ Keystone Raceway Park
the worst part of their whole smoke and mirror show is these 2 lowlifes are using Jenkins good name to profit from.

AND some poor smuck will pay big $$$ for it and wind up getting royally screwed!!! TAZ |
Re: Grumpy's Toy @ Keystone Raceway Park
I did some more digging.jenkins did pick up a bolero red 67 ss350 with a L88 installed directly from Chevy. The L88 was removed and a 396 was installed then sold off. This car was never raced. Toy 3 was picked up at Norwood as a heater/radio delete 396/375 with aluminum heads and 4:88 gears. A rs grill was eventually installed on toy 3. Toy 3 is restored to 1967 spec's and is shown from time to time. Toy 4 was definitely a butternut yellow 1968 rs/as big block car on day one. The only connection between Jenkins and penske is the toy 2 nova was purchased from penske Chevrolet. Jenkins never had a z28. This car is a nice recreation but not the real car.

Re: Grumpy's Toy @ Keystone Raceway Park
wonder what the NCRS report shows for the original dealership

Re: Grumpy's Toy @ Keystone Raceway Park

Re: Grumpy's Toy @ Keystone Raceway Park
So now there's 2..TWO Bolero Red 67 67 SS converted to BB CARS IN
JENKINS LIVERY COLORS ? I built a '68 Z |
Re: Grumpy's Toy @ Keystone Raceway Park
They're in a first gen Camaro group on Facebook. It hurts to see them constantly going on about the "Original Toy IV" and people believe them. I never say anything for fear of starting a huge fight, but I feel sorry for those who are getting mislead. Guess ya gotta just smile and nod.
|
Re: Grumpy's Toy @ Keystone Raceway Park
they got blasted with the truth on a couple other sites, when their imaginary 'facts' didn't fly, they deleted their pictures and comments and ran.
worse of it was their comments of Jenkins being senile, couldn't remember, told lies |

On the cover of Raceway Park News? Saw that car run several times in Heavy's arsenal.
|
I just read over this past weekend Toy IV currently is nothing more than a roof, quarter panels, rocker panels, and some of the firewall. I do not want to go any further with details out of respect for the current people involved with Toy IV.
|
That sounds like a car to me. More original than a lot of them.
