Re: Wtb survivor 1970 chevelle
Dave has been very gracious to share his inspection report with the world.....this report IMHO is the BEST MOST HONEST Inspection Report that I have ever seen.
I know Dave has shared this report with a select few of you that Dave trusts and respects. Thank You Dave for making a difference in our Hobby Enjoy http://www.timegoesnowhere.com/cheve...eport_1-47.pdf Dan |

Re: Wtb survivor 1970 chevelle
That is an unbelievable report, well done!
|
Re: Wtb survivor 1970 chevelle
Indeed a very comprehensive report. Leaves nothing left unanswered.
|
Re: Wtb survivor 1970 chevelle
I have seen Dave's car in person and it's spectacular!
|
Re: Wtb survivor 1970 chevelle
I have seen the car several times, and it is a one of a kind - very very well preserved survivor - with virtually nothing messed with. - as the report reflects.
Im sure the opportunity to own this in a collection would be special for some collectors - clearly not for the everyday joe that wants a driver car - thus the opportunity own is not your average driver Chevelle $$. GLWS Dave |
Re: Wtb survivor 1970 chevelle
Just curious what make this one of a kind?
|
Re: Wtb survivor 1970 chevelle
----Jeff,,,Maybe not one of a kind, but certainly a beautiful ORIGINAL car and I think that's what everybody is pointing out.....Bill S

Re: Wtb survivor 1970 chevelle
IMO.....You won't find a nicer, better, survivor 1970 SS396 Chevelle out there.....Period.
The fact that this is a Canadian Chevelle, is what really makes it stand out. I have seen the other highly discussed survivor Canadian Chevelle a few years ago.....I can honestly say.....that If you parked the two next to one another.....Dave's Chevelle will easily outshine the other Canadian Chevelle in soooooo many ways and areas. I am not knocking the other Canadian Chevelle at all....as it is a very nice Chevelle.....just saying. Dan |
Re: Wtb survivor 1970 chevelle
Jeff, if it makes you feel better, I can correct my statement if need be - it is one a very few that i have ever seen in this condition.....
It is special in that regard - IMO...... |

I would'nt say one of a kind, but I would say one of very very few original 13,000 mile or less cars out there. |

Re: Wtb survivor 1970 chevelle
It is certainly a very nice survivor car, and with all due respect, it is certainly not a $200k dollar car, lets get real here.

Re: Wtb survivor 1970 chevelle
Hey guys, thanks for the compliments on the report. Dave's car is special. One of the best reference vehicles I've seen. I hope to have more reports done by summer. Eventually, with owner approval, I may put them on my upcoming survivor reference website. If you know of anyone who has a great 65-72 GM reference vehicle and may be interested in a report, my contact info is on the title page of Dave's report. I'm still working on fine tuning my format and all reports will be retroactively updated as needed.

Re: Wtb survivor 1970 chevelle
Jeff,
Your report is amazing......by far the best I have seen, I believe Chris White said it BEST....."what are you trying to do....make us all look bad". I commend you on an Outstanding Job....keep up the Great Work. I will certainly keep you in mind for a high recommendation on these very special cars.....like Dave`s '70 Chevelle Dan |

Hey Jeff great work on the inspection, Dave and I have talked for hours on the phone and his car is a great example of a survivor. I personally love Oshawa built 1970 Chevelle SS's as they are so unique in so many different ways compared to the USA production cars. Dave kindly forwarded all his photos and your inspection report to me to keep on file as it is a great tool for a guy that admires the 1970 Chevelle SS like myself. I did a feature story on Dave's car in my Club and it was a hit. Keep up the great work. Danny |
Re: Wtb survivor 1970 chevelle
Just wondered if there is anyone here that has a Chevelle similar to the one in this discussion? If so, I would like to see some pics. Love the Survivor cars.

Similar perhaps...one like Dave`s, I do not think it exists....or if it does. It has not surfaced. Dan |
Re: Wtb survivor 1970 chevelle
Thanks Dan! It sounds like this 1970 Chevelle could be considered a true Bench Mark car or used as a guide for someone doing a concours correct restoration.

Re: Wtb survivor 1970 chevelle
This one does exist with half the mileage and half the asking price and a 4-speed with a desirable color.
