Funston - dealer emblem help
1 Attachment(s)
Does anyone know if any of the supercars sold at Funston Chevrolet in Detroit had a dealer emblem? I attached a photo of the emblem I am trying to identify. Thanks for your help.

Re: Funston - dealer emblem help
Cool emblem, I have never seen one before. There is a guy on here who used to work at Funston...wish I could remember his handle...maybe he will see this.

Re: Funston - dealer emblem help
Paul here. I had never seen that type of Funston emblem before. They had a stick-on label that either went directly on the bumper
or paint. I've seen a few license plate frames. I worked there in '71 and '72. All the dealers in the area had stickers or license plate frames. Rinke, Merollis, Gene Hamilton, Ver Hoven, Shalla, Jefferson. When Funston closed I went to Buff Whelan. They had stickers and then the type of emblem in the picture later in the 70's. The emblem shown could have been a sample piece from a place that sold that kind of stuff to dealers. Hard to see but there is a Funston sticker on the back bumper if this car. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...funston001.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...mod_topper.png |

Re: Funston - dealer emblem help
Thank you all for the feedback on the emblem. I grew up in the Detroit area. When I was a kid I collected car emblems. I found a box of them not long ago. I don't remember where I got it but it had to have been 40+ years ago.

Re: Funston - dealer emblem help
I was able to purchase this emblem when Dan listed it on Ebay. It is huge, as far as dealer emblems go. There are three pins on the back. It is pristine and was obviously never mounted. I've been searching around to see if anyone has ever seen one before...cool piece regardless.

That is big.

Re: Funston - dealer emblem help
I know! I mocked it up on the tail panel of my '68 Z and it barely fits between the gas cap and taillight bezel....
